About this product
Veracini Vol. 3. Fifteen years after our first album featuring works by Francesco Veracini and two years after the of the second such album, cpo is now releasing the third production by L'Arte dell'Arco in this series combining a complete edition of this composer's work. The first met with an unanimously enthusiastic response InchHere everything fits perfectly; here instrumentalists perform with passion; here a very great ensemble is revealed. The team effort is fascinating; here musicians, friends, and kindred spirits are at work. CD of the MonthInch (Toccata). The goal of this project is to record Veracini's complete overtures and violin concertos and to combine them with a selection of his most interesting sonatas from the collection without opus number (1716) and his Opus 1 (1721). When these three groups of works are juxtaposed, Veracini's various stylistic characters come into even clearer view. The succinct tutti passages and the virtuosic élan of the violin concertos meet the festive tone of the overtures, which frequently goes over into tones of greater exuberance and greater folk character, while in the sonatas chamber flexibility is articulated in which refinement and contrapuntal erudition find even clearer expression. Album Tracks 1. Overture V in B Flat Major 2. Sonata VI in E minor 3. Sonata III in D minor 4. Overture IV in F Major

Georg Druschetzky is a name that people who know their music history associate with charming but innocuous wind partitas and truly out-of-the-ordinary concertos for six, seven, or eight timpani and orchestra. The latter category comes as no surprise; after all, Druschetzky was an InchUpper Austrian Regional TimpanistInch (a title actually bestowed on him in Linz in 1776), and so why shouldn't he offer compositional tribute to his instrument? But there's more Druschetzky enjoyed a successful career that took him all the way to the court of the Palatine of Hungary, Archduke Joseph von Habsburg, in Ofen (today's Buda), where he held the posts of court composer and music director and wrote masses, symphonies, two operas, and numerous chamber compositions. His chamber works include a cycle of ten oboe quartets (1807-8) from his late years that make an astonishing and lasting listening impression - because of his rich imagination and his compositional wit and spirited harmonic daredevilry that we otherwise encounter only in the Inchsurprise artistInch Haydn. This discovery is so significant that we in any case intend to present all ten quartets in congenial recordings by the Grundmann Quartet on historical instruments. The present is volume 1 in this project. Album Tracks 1. Quartet in C Major 2. Quartet in G minor 3. Quartet in F Major 4. Quartet in E Flat Major 5. Quartet in B Flat Major 6. Encore 7. Dobrú Noc

The soprano Ania Vegry, the recipient of many prizes, was nominated by Opernwelt as the Young Artist of the Year in 2009 and has been an ensemble member at the State Opera of Lower Saxony in Hanover since 2007. The Online Musik Magazin certifies that Inchher soprano voice, most highly fluent in the coloraturas, possesses warmth and substance, expressive power, and flawless intonationInch - which makes her the ideal choice for the rich affections of the arias of Florian Leopold Gassmann, an Austrian composer on the cusp between the Baroque and Early Classicism. After two years of study with Giovanni Battista Martini, Gassmann became an organist in Venice. In 1757 he composed his first opera, and through 1762 he composed an opera every year for the Carnival season In Venice. The musical settings heard on this recording include arias belonging to the genre of the opera seria, the Italian-language serious opera of the eighteenth century. Others are exit arias in da capo form and typical of the genre after the action - designed as a recitative in the music during the course of a singer's time on stage - has advanced, one of the protagonists expresses his state of heart and mind in an aria before he exits from the stage. The da capo form (A-B-A) underscores the fact that dramaturgically the static unity of the affection to be expressed occupies the foreground. In his later vocal works Gassmann goes much farther in his elaboration of textual nuances, so that the works have the effect of vocal arias for an opera buffa. The text is bursting with emotional excitement, which Gassmann sets in a relaxed tone and with long coloraturas composed with fine art. Album Tracks 1. Achille in Sciro Involrami 2. Catone in Utica Se in Campo Armato 3. Catone in Utica Dovea Svenarti Allora 4. Catone in Utica Per Darvi Alcun Pegno 5. Achille in Sciro Ah, Ingrato, Amor 6. L
