A: Everything that isn't involved with technical components can be removed to be cleaned (the grills and fan blade) I remove the outer plastic grill, the fan blade and the rear plastic grill and wash with mild soap and water, rinse, let dry completely and reassemble.
A: This fan is very light. So I guess give it a try.
