Features
Classic Cabasa Sounds for Rhythmic Expression
Create expressive percussion patterns with steel bead chains wrapped around a textured stainless steel cylinder. The rotating bead design helps produce the recognizable scraping sound commonly used in Latin, jazz, pop, and world music performances. This allows musicians to add texture, movement, and rhythmic accents to live sets, rehearsals, and studio recordings with greater musical variety.
Comfortable Wooden Handle for Better Control
The wooden frame and handle provide a stable and comfortable grip that supports controlled movement while playing. This design helps percussionists maintain consistent rhythm patterns during extended practice sessions, live performances, or recording work. The ergonomic feel also makes it easier to perform smooth rotations and expressive rhythmic changes with confidence.
Large 5-1/4-Inch Design for Fuller Percussion Tone
The larger 5-1/4-inch Afuche/Cabasa size helps create fuller and more pronounced rhythmic sounds compared to smaller hand percussion options. Its expanded playing surface allows the steel beads to produce a broader range of tonal textures and rhythmic effects, making it suitable for both subtle background accents and more noticeable percussion patterns in music arrangements.
Durable Metal and Wood Construction for Regular Use
Built with a textured stainless steel cylinder, steel bead chains, and a solid wooden frame, this percussion instrument is designed for repeated use in practice rooms, studios, and performance settings. The combination of wood and metal materials helps support dependable sound production while maintaining the classic cabasa feel used by percussionists across multiple music styles.
Patented LP Design with Recognizable Percussion Style
Introduced by Latin Percussion more than 40 years ago, the patented Afuche/Cabasa design has become a recognizable hand percussion instrument for musicians and educators. Its signature scraping effect adds rhythmic depth to different musical genres, while the trusted LP construction makes it a practical addition to percussion setups for students, hobbyists, and performing artists.
