Laura Stevenson - Laura Stevenson - VINYL LP

Vinyl LP pressing. The thirteen song album has been remastered at the hallowed Abbey Road Studios in London from the original 1/4' analog master tapes, and the vinyl processed with a new half speed lacquer cut to ensure the highest quality audio possible. The album features liner note essays written by musicians Julien Baker and Lucy Dacus who drew early inspiration for their own music and songwriting from the album.

I love these musicians [Sam Amidon, Karl Blau, Charlotte Greve, Shahzad Ismaily]. I've played with some of them for two years and some for over twenty. We met up last spring at Figure 8 Studios in Brooklyn and rehearsed for one day before recording this album at the nearby Owl Parlor on March 29 and 30, 2023. It fills me with joy to hear my songs reinterpreted through the spirits of these masterful musicians (who are also my dear friends). I hope you enjoy this document, too. Thank you to Oren Bloedow at The Owl Parlor for creating a beautiful space for us to perform and record this music.InchSam Amidon - fiddle, electric guitar and vocalsKarl Blau - bass and vocalsCharlotte Greve - sax, synths and vocalsShahzad Ismaily - drums, piano and vocalsLaura Veirs - nylon guitar, electric guitar, piano and vocalsRecorded and mixed by Lily WenMastered by Josh Bonati at Bonati Mastering NYCProduced by Laura VeirsA1. With influences ranging from The Lemonheads, Liz Phair, and The Replacements, to early Weezer and the Smoking Popes, Cocksure maintains Stevenson's unique vulnerability, and steadfast devotion to a solid and honest melody. In the writing process, she challenged herself to be true to whatever was going to come out of her, with many of the tracks featuring melodies that were purely stream of consciousness.
