In the late 50s, Welk was so popular that he had two shows airing every week, and on this December 16, 1957 episode, Christmas is in the air with musical selections that truly celebrate the season. Watch for Pete Fountain, oft-featured clarinetist in Welk's orchestra, and his memorable medley of InchMy Blue HeavenInch/InchAway in a MangerInch (particularly memorable for Fountain, as Welk would fire him after the show for Inchjazzing it upInch too much!), as well as other Welk Family regulars like saxophonist Dick Dale, Champagne lady Alice Lon and, of course, the Lennon Sisters. Merry Christmas!
