Vinyl LP pressing including . John Denver's Greatest Hits was released in late 1973 for the holiday shopping season. The collection included material from his earlier days as a songwriter (going back to 1965 on InchFor BobbieInch) to his later hit InchRocky Mountain HighInch. Greatest Hits is important historically because it contained new, revisionist recordings of several songs. Notable new versions included InchLeaving on a Jet PlaneInch, InchStarwood in AspenInch, InchFollow MeInch, InchRhymes and ReasonsInch, InchThe Eagle and the HawkInch, InchSunshine On My ShouldersInch and InchPoems, Prayers, and PromisesInch. Denver explained this himself in the liner notes by saying that he had picked the numbers most requested in his concerts, but that InchI felt that some of these songs had grown a bit, that I am singing better than I was four or five years ago, and that I would like to treat some of the songs a little differently than I had in the original recordings.Inch

Benedetto Marcello was born in Venice in 1686 and died in Brescia in 1739. His vast musical output remains largely unexplored, but his most famous work is the Estro poetico-armonico - a collection of fifty psalms, including eleven ancient Jewish songs - called Intonazioni - and two sacred hymns from Greek classicism. Marcello acknowledged the importance of Jewish and classical music heritage, and by blending these different styles, he sought to underline their universal value. This album features Psalms Nos. 21 and 42, as well as the Sonata for Violin and Basso Continuo in E minor Op. 1, No. 1, and the first movements of Sonatas No. 5 in F major and No. 4 in G minor for solo harpsichord.
