Leanne Betasamosake Simpson - Theory Of Ice - VINYL LP

Renowned Michi Saagiig Nishnaabeg musician and author Leanne Betasamosake Simpson returns with Live Like The Sky, the highly anticipated follow up to her Polaris Music Prize short-listed album Theory Of Ice (2021). Born in struggle, and written in response to a world engulfed in wild-fire smoke, fascism, colonialism, and hetero-patriarchy, the album draws surprising influence from formative alternative musics (The Cure, Jesus and Mary Chain, Depeche Mode) in combination with a vital Anishinaabe worldview to create a fugitive space of re-worlding and affirmation. Here are complex nuanced shorelines, where a newly developed alternative pop musical sensibility provides a counterpoint to lyrics of resistance and a powerfully emergent creative process. Working towards a reclamation of land, language, sonics, and possibility, Live Like The Sky records an expansion of imagination and relationship.

Lizzies returns with the second album 'On Thin Ice'. The eleven track long album is sharper, tighter & filled with some of the strongest hooks & choruses of the year. The album follows the bands applauded debut, 'Good Luck', that made it to #16 in the Spanish Charts. The entire recording got an 80´s vibe over it & includes hit songs that would have been immortalized today if released 40 years ago.
