Its big. Its beautiful. Its heavy. The smaller ram size and Z2 chip is such a huge problem to lots of people but I won’t lie. The performance when docked is perfectly fine after tweaking some settings and I can get a stable 30-45 frames on battery playing slightly older AAA games.

Lenovo has outdone themselves , outrageous performance , sturdy build , and this screen is nuts ! It makes everything pop , some weeks I don’t game I just watch my screen saver . Look I got the Z2 non extreme and it’s everything for me , I emulate like crazy , ran through an insane amount of triple A games and wow this thing runs great at low settings , no cap this has gotta be my favorite purchase . It was between this and the Ally X . The original left a bad taste in my mouth and I was just going to buy a Lenovo legion go 1 off Facebook marketplace for a 3rd of the price but I dropped the bag on this and not one regret . A lot of features I don’t utilize like the mouse feature and even detaching the controllers but they are fun to have . Nothing beating this screen , not even the MSi Claw 8 .

I’ve been using the Lenovo Legion Go Gen 2 for a little while now, and honestly, this thing is a monster. The performance is incredibly smooth — AAA games run with no problem, and the touchscreen + controls make it feel like a true handheld PC. The build quality is premium, the screen is bright and sharp, and the battery life is solid for a device this powerful. What I love the most is how versatile it is. I can use it as a handheld, set it on a kickstand, or connect it to my monitor and use it like a mini PC. The detachable controller is super comfortable, and Lenovo made big improvements compared to the first gen. Everything feels more responsive. I’ve used it for gaming, streaming, and even some work on the side — it handles everything easily. Updates have been smooth, and the device just keeps getting better. If you want a portable gaming system that’s powerful, flexible, and fun to use, the Lenovo Legion Go Gen 2 is definitely worth it. I highly recommend it.

owning few differnet handheld over the years, this one is most luxury feeling owning one, i would suggest to get the 32G with Z2 extreme version for better performance, as far as the hardware, i absolutely love it and big OLED screen is best immersive exprience ! its a Huge handheld, but when palying, it really get myself into the game. for short session of gaming just pickup and play type of user, i would consider Legion GO s or Steam deck, but if those user have time to play and want the best experience, i feel legion go 2 is best. i love mine.

I love this thing i play it all the time super convenient when you want to play right away. Work with my cars hotspot can game while driving somewhere. The only thing is that is has to be charging most of the time. I only get about 30-45 minutes running a game on just the battery before it dies. If your playing on your car make sure you have a 115v ac outlet to power this beast.

I love my legion go2 . But I’m not very tech savvy at all I use it mostly with steam

I've spent several weeks with the base Legion Go 2, and while there's plenty to admire here, I'm struggling to recommend it at its current asking price. This is a handheld that excels in specific areas but stumbles where it matters most. The Standout Feature The 8.8-inch OLED display is genuinely spectacular. At 1920x1200 resolution with a 144Hz refresh rate and VRR support, this is arguably the best screen on any Windows handheld. Colors are vibrant, blacks are deep, and the sheer size makes everything from menus to gameplay more immersive than competitors. Coming from smaller 7-inch handhelds, the difference is immediately noticeable. For OLED enthusiasts, this alone might justify consideration. The detachable controllers are unique in the Windows handheld space. They're bulkier than Switch Joy-Cons but more ergonomic, with improved rounded edges over the original Legion Go. The FPS mode that turns the right controller into a vertical mouse is clever, though I found myself using it rarely. The built-in kickstand is solid and wide, which becomes necessary given the device's weight. Performance Reality Here's where things get complicated. The AMD Ryzen Z2 (non-Extreme) processor with 16GB RAM delivers adequate performance for less demanding titles, but struggles with modern AAA games even at reduced settings. The performance gap between this base model and the Z2 Extreme version isn't enormous in raw numbers, maybe 10-15% in most scenarios, but that difference often determines whether games feel smooth or frustrating. The default VRAM allocation out of the box is inexplicably set to just 2GB, which cripples performance until you dive into BIOS settings to increase it. This is a bizarre oversight on a premium handheld and asking players to mess with firmware just to unlock expected performance feels antithetical to the "pick up and play" promise of handheld gaming. Even after adjusting VRAM, the base Z2 struggles to justify the gorgeous OLED panel. That beautiful 1200p display begs to run at native resolution, but modern games stutter badly when you try. You'll spend most of your time dropping to 800-900p with medium settings to maintain playable framerates, which feels like a mismatch between the screen's capabilities and the chip's reality. The Windows Problem Windows 11 remains poorly optimized for handheld use. Controller disconnects after sleep, launcher conflicts between Steam and Xbox apps, awkward DPI scaling that makes text tiny or buttons clipped, these issues persist. Battery life during gaming is mediocre at best, typically 2-3 hours for demanding titles despite the larger battery. System stability has been inconsistent in my testing. Games occasionally freeze requiring hard reboots, and there's constant tinkering required with TDP settings, graphics options, and resolution to find the sweet spot for each title. For someone wanting a console-like experience, this is exhausting. The Value Question At over $1,000 for the base Z2 model with 16GB RAM, the value proposition collapses under scrutiny. The ROG Ally X with last-gen Z1 Extreme and better optimization costs significantly less. The Steam Deck OLED delivers a smoother, more polished experience at half the price. Even Lenovo's own Legion Go S with SteamOS offers better usability for far less money. The performance difference between this base model and handhelds that cost hundreds less is marginal at best. You're essentially paying a premium for the OLED screen and detachable controllers, features that don't fundamentally improve the gaming experience enough to justify the cost. Who This Is For The base Legion Go 2 works for players who primarily game at home with the kickstand, prefer larger displays above all else, play less demanding indie or older titles, and can tolerate constant settings adjustments. Even then, the value is questionable. It's not suitable for anyone wanting strong AAA performance, expecting console-like simplicity, needing good battery life for travel, or shopping on any kind of budget. The Verdict The Legion Go 2 feels like brilliant hardware hamstrung by compromises and Windows limitations. That OLED screen is genuinely beautiful, the build quality is solid, and the detachable controllers are unique. But performance on the base Z2 model doesn't match the premium positioning, Windows 11 creates constant friction, and battery life disappoints. Most critically, the base model with 16GB RAM and the standard Z2 processor simply doesn't deliver enough performance to justify its premium price. The OLED display is gorgeous but feels overqualified for what the chip can consistently deliver.

The screen is amazing, its by far the best feature of this device. The new Z2 extreme processor really shines ahead of the steamdeck and older gen hand helds. I also bought the rog xbox ally x for my wife and the performance is a touch better on the rog device because of the smaller resolution. However the screen again shines ahead and the few less fps are forgotten about. The biggest con on this device is the weight. Its big and heavy and you can feel the strain holding it without support for longer sessions.

Great performing handheld and overall great device. Only drawback for me is the overall size. I do like that that can be mitigated slightly with the built in kickstand. Battery life also wasn’t the best but it does have a huge 2k hdr screen.

Very beautiful piece of hardware, the thing is huge but runs real well , the oled screen is a game changer but also its downfall because the battery isnt the greatest but it can still last a bit , honestly if yoir in the market for a handheld give this a go

Grade A product and performance. My only issue is that the controller doesn’t quite feel like that of PlayStation or Xbox in regard to the thumb sticks. It’s less springy and kinda loose feeling. Works pretty well tho. Also, not being able to find controller cases and a screen case for protection while disconnected from one another is ridiculous. Overall, it’s pretty responsive, fast, vivid, and stays cool even though the fans blow out heat. Awesome job guys

This thing is insane. Don't mind all the hype about the 32gig version, the performance is not that big of a jump. Sometimes the two even trade blows, I have a feeling this version is better optimized. Especially with frame-gen this thing goes hard. I am a PC buff and am quite impressed. This thing is in a class of its own. I actually like the built in touchpad with the windows interface. It's like I have a little mini PC I can just hide when I don't want to look at.

Beautiful oled display! Nothing like it! Produces beautiful images too of the line gameplay and performance. Nothing but good to say about it!

Great handheld. Love the screen and the Xbox FSE with steam full screen is the way to go.

Lenovo Legion Go 2 is an excellent device! The OLED screen is undoubtedly the standout feature. While the Z2 chip may feel slightly underpowered, the overall product is still great.

The headphone jack is in the bottom? Why? It is so uncomfortable to hold with the cable poking into you. Also, I have the 90 degree plug for my Sony headphones and it still is uncomfortable. Also, this thing costs as much as an OLED laptop and has nowhere near the performance. The screen is nice though but so is the screen on OLED laptops.
