Legendary drummer Simon Phillips returns with Protocol V, once again reimagining his adventurous jazz/fusion outfit. Instrumentation is expanded to a quintet , including saxophone, launching the group into sonic territory familiar to fans of Chick Corea's Elektric Band in the late 1980s. Strands of DNA from other iconic artists like John McLaughlin, Tony Williams, Allan Holdsworth and Jan Hammer are woven throughout. Simon's impressive compositional skills are also on display, culminating in an 11-minute mini-suite called InchThe Long Road Home.Inch Now available as a beautiful double gatefold LP set, remastered especially for 180 gram vinyl. LP pressing of Blur's seminal debut album Leisure. Originally released on 26th August 1991 via Food Records, Leisure peaked at #7 in the UK album chart and announced the arrival of Blur. Formed in 1989 by Damon Albarn, Graham Coxon, Alex James and Dave Rowntree, the band signed with Food/EMI the same year. Following the of Leisure, Blur continued to revolutionize the sound of English popular music with subsequent releases. Leisure includes InchShe's So High', 'There's No Other Way' and more.
In a world preoccupied with instant gratification and overnight success, LEISURE is taking the scenic route. This is the third album by the five members - and mates - that came together in 2015 on a spontaneous trip up New Zealand's ragged west coast. LEISURE consistently delivers a steady stream of good vibes to soundtrack your lazy Sundays. The title InchSunsetterInch perfectly mirrors their new musical paradigm keep it LEISURE. They're going the distance, at their own pace, in their own way. Come along for the ride.
