The laptop was purchased for my middle school student who needs a device for school. We selected this laptop for it's small size and good battery life. He does not play any games on it, but for school it is a nice machine. We didn't realize this when purchasing but the screen folds back completely and can be used like a tablet. It has all the basics plus a few extra features.

I love this laptop. It’s lightweight, the touchscreen is awesome, good amount of storage, fast processing. I don’t know much about laptops but as a college student in a health sciences major (probably not the best for computer majors?) it does everything I could ask for. I think its basically supposed to be a knock off of the windows surface laptop. My only issue is that I experienced a hardware malfunctio after only owning it a few weeks. Apparently, the wire connecting the bottom of the laptop to the screen became loose and it was making my screen glitch out a ton. Luckily I was still under warranty and I just took it to bestbuy and they sent it into Lenovo and it was all fixed up in a couple of weeks! If your not computer savvy and prefer windows to apple, I’d reccommend this laptop.

Really wanted a computer that was the right size and able to be flipped into a tablet. I own a Lenovo x1 carbon and decided to stick with lenovo based off the build quality of that laptop and the yoga was no different. This laptop met all my expectations and really satisfied with my purchase at such a great price!

I bought this on sale in store and used it for about a week. I loved the 2 in 1 feature. The i5 ran FL Studio great but the screen was smaller than what I thought I wanted. The jbl speakers were good but in an awkward spot. However my biggest issue was with WiFi staying connected and the battery life. I got maybe 6 hours at most.

Was so excited to get this item. Price was perfect and so were the options and accessories you can get with it. I got my item and currently stationed overseas. After 10 days the screen started to flicker on and off which was annoying. Followed all the steps from lenovo, did the updates and reinstalled windows. Still flickered. Its not to the point where the it just goes black. Being overseas im not able to have it serviced. So beyond disappointed and its sad that lenovo would continue selling this product as i found so many reviews with people who have the same issue.

It's a good laptop and honestly my experience with it wasn't that bad. If reliability of this thing was bulletproof and I didn't have to deal with lenovo customer service for repairs, I would easily recommend it. I love taking notes on this thing especially paired with the lenovo pen pro. I'm however going to have to replace this laptop because it isn't even a year into it's life cycle, but it's already experience major screen flickering problems. This wasn't something I was aware of while reading and watching reviews but its a problem that plagues many yoga line laptops because of the poor routing of the display cable. A simple search for lenovo yoga screen flicker will reveal countless other people with the same problem and countless other people getting absolutely no support or any proper responses from lenovo regarding the problem. This is my first lenovo laptop and it will be my last until they fix the poor build quality or actually honor their warranties regarding manufacturer defects.

Hi… my main problems with this laptop are: - bad wifi connection constantly while the other laptop and devices at home work fine, it is not an issue due to internet supplier or router. - screen flickering. Even though I only used it as tablet twice. - low speaker volume. - the finger ID practically never works. - Finally, today when closing it the small piece of the the left bottom corner came off. Now the screen looks like comming out and I’m afraid it might break if I open or close the laptop. So I left it open (not a laptop anymore). By the way the laptop hasn’t fall or anything like that ever and since the pandemic I have been teleworking so it is always over my desk.

I really wanted to LOVE this laptop/ tablet combo. Unfortunately, when I looked closely the bottom of the screen where the case seals to the monitor was not sealed completely. I bought 3 of them and they all had the same issue. I'm not sure if it was just a bad batch for Best Buy because a friend who ordered 2 directly from Lenovo had no issues. It bothered me enough to not want to keep it. The quality, portability and durability and everything else was great!

We love our Yoga 730 laptop. It is easy to use, practical, and light weight. Its touchscreen features allows us to use it as a tablet (which it can fold up) and a smartphone. Excellent laptop/tablet.

Very nice laptop. It is light, thin and fast. Great lit keyboard. I use a Mac Pro also, and the Lenovo has nothing to envy it.

I don’t do gaming or heavy streaming. This handles what I need, recording music.

Display is not bright enough even at the highest setting. Get this, I just got it in about a month and there is one bright spot already. I usually get this on my other phone or TV at least after a year. Would I have it repaired??? maybe but I cannot afford to send it out, since I cannot work. I'll probably just stay with it and try to avoid Lenovo in future...

Everything is ok excpet for the screen that sometimes when you fold it some lines appear or it turns all black.

Started off as a great laptop; however, 11 months after buying it new the screen cracked near the hinge for no reason - it was not dropped or mistreated, only opened and closed. The laptop is unusable as the touchpad and touchscreen no longer work. We considered paying to have the screen fixed, but after reading that others have had the same problem with screens cracking near a hinge, we thought it would continue to happen. The design of the glass screen next to the hinge without any plate to protect the screen looks flawed. After spending so much for a laptop that lasted only 11 months, we've moved on from Lenovo and replaced it with a different brand.

Among many other problems most notable one is the figure print reader, this almost never work. Pictures are attached in the image section. I wish I would have purchased different laptop.

I'm writing this review as someone who is extremely picky with their electronics, wanting to get the best overall package. Firstly, I really like the Windows Precision Touchpad for the gestures which make working on the laptop feel nice. In fact, I really came close to getting a HP Spectre X360 the other day based on a lot of great reviews, but the trackpad felt off to me and did not support all the gestures I wanted to use. That feature is a dealbreaker for me, so I'm glad this knocks it out of the park. The ability to swap desktops with a four finger swipe can help out when trying to do a lot on a smaller screen. To round out my comments on the inputs, the keyboard works great too. For me, it has the right combination of very solid feeling key presses with enough travel to feel satisfying while still feeling fast. That one is personal preference though; I think the new MacBook keyboards feel nice, where some people hate them. Some keyboards throw me off with their layout, but this one feels good. One niggling annoyance...the backlighting has 3 levels, bright/medium/off, and unlike what I'm used to it's static. In other words, if you're watching a video they will just stay illuminated all the time..I would rather the backlighting time out and turn off if you aren't touching the machine, to reduce glare and distraction while watching a video. But, that's just what I'm used to (coming from a Surface Pro 4). It's very quick to toggle though, with function+spacebar, and the keyboard is natural enough that I usually don't need the light unless I'm using special characters. Performance is something that I really missed coming from a Surface m3, and this machine feels really responsive. In CineBench R15, I got a score of 714 after some tweaking for the CPU test. For comparison, the MacBook Pro 13 is around 360 according to online tests. Some tasks may not show that difference, but in heavy workloads the new quad-core U-series processors are the first big step forward in some time for laptops this size. One feature I like is the hardware support for VP9 video codec used by Youtube, which enables better battery and lower utilization of resources to watch videos, compared to 6th gen or older. After years of incremental improvements (and some time spent with a noticeably less powerful machine) I felt that the 8th gen processor was a must. This is what knocked the MacBook Pro out of contention for me, combined with its lack of features and high price of storage upgrades. Speaking of storage - getting a NVMe storage drive at this price is great. It helps the machine boot faster than my gaming desktop which itself is a beast. The drive is also user-replacable, important in the future when 1tb or more NVMe drives are less expensive. Another factor in performance is cooling, and this machine has a two fan cooling solution, unlike the non-touchbar MBP. I saw temperatures spike high (never over safe limits) and then drop as the fans ramped up. They were very noticeable during intital setup, but I have not heard them much since. The noise is not too annoying, however. Importantly down the road, they're easily accessible for cleaning. Notably, it seems like in laptops this size Core i7 is not a huge leap from Core i5, in most cases offering roughly similar performance due to themal or power limits. Finally for performance, DDR4 ram is used instead of slower low-power DDR3 and the 802.11AC wifi worked well with my router delivering internet speeds the same as my desktop which is wired in (the wireless card is also upgradable to meet future standards, if you were wondering). For design, I think they did a nice job. Once I removed the stickers, it's a clean looking machine. I don't think it's anything that will realistically catch someone's eye and stand out, but it's not priced like that either. The one standout design feature compared to older machines is the slim bezel display that is becoming popular. I think it looks great and while it's not the slimmest around (Dell XPS 13 takes that crown), it is slim enough to look nice and is the standout characteristic of the machine. I don't use the webcam much but the slightly larger top bezel allows it to be placed at a better angle which some laptops sacrifice for design. I wouldn't care, but if you do use your webcam this is a selling feature. This laptop also features a fingerprint scanner, which is a selling feature for me. My Surface had Windows Hello IR camera, basically facial scanning. That worked well and I liked it. This works faster, and better, and in more conditions/wearing a hat/at odd angles. I would really miss this feature, and MacBook Pro reserving it for the touchbar model is a bit of a bummer. Some sort of quick-login is a must, it's great to have. Another feature that this piles on is support for Wacom AES pens, with more than 4000 levels of pressure sensitivity. It's nice for taking notes, drawing, or retouching photos. Another feature is fast-charge. The laptop only takes a little more than an hour to charge when it's off. Of course, having a normal USB port is something that will be nice, I still have a lot of USB peripherals. It also supports always-on charging which is super handy. Funny, but charging an iPhone with the included cord is something you can do on this machine, not on a MacBook. I have a USB-C phone, so the convenience of your laptop charger also working for your phone is great. The included charger is 65w, compared to some competitors 45w (Dell XPS 13) or 61w (MacBook Pro 13), which helps the machine stay charging even when heavily taxed. Of course, I haven't even touched on the 2 in 1 aspect, which is another feature. It's not something I would use all the time, but it's nice to have. The other models I was considering did not include this feature for the most part, and I don't consider it a must have. However, when you're getting it basically for free, why not. Touch is another nice to have. I find it easier to use the great trackpad, but for the drawing features or for space like on an airplane, the 2 in 1 flexibility is nice when you use it and you don't really pay a big price for it in money or functionality when you don't need it. There are 2 thunderbolt 3 ports if you want to dock the machine or add a graphics card externally in the future. This laptop also includes far-field microphones to let you use Cortana across the room as you can Alexa. I haven't tried those features. Are there drawbacks to this machine compared to the competition? Yes. I think the screen is good, not great. The brightness is good, but not as high as the more expensive options in the class. The glossy nature of the screen also invites glare more than I am used to. I haven't tried it outside, but I would not expect it to do great in that setting. The battery is the same story. It's not as great as class leaders like the XPS and might be similar or a little less than a MacBook Pro 13. I've seen varying reports on what that machine can do. This one does use the more power hungry DDR4, which might explain some of it. I've seen around 6-7 hours though with video watching use and it seems to predict more for general web browsing, at a medium brightness setting. I have also seen it predict less when under load, which they all do. But, with the fast charging, I think it helps make up for this. That said, I think it's good enough for me. I would like XPS levels of 12+ hours, but I understand this machine is much cheaper and with more features, so it's a trade off. Another good-not-great aspect is the speakers. They're loud enough but lack a real punch. Again, I sort of get it. Nothing is perfect. The build is great feeling especially settled on a table, and premium, and does not flex when picking up from a corner. That said, it can make a *very* slight creaking which I don't think MacBook Pro would do. Again, a slight trade-off for a bottom panel that removes with screws in a straightforward manner for cleaning the fan or swapping battery, SSD, or Wifi module. You sort of need to be looking for this issue, so it's a nitpick, but I've nitpicked every machine I've looked at so I have to be fair. Finally the design, it is a little hard edged for my tastes in tablet mode or sometimes in my lap, like in bed. It's not terrible, but I could see improvements being made there. I think this laptop is greater than the sum of its parts, and a really great mix of features. For me, it hits the must haves completely, with enough nice-to-haves to surprise and delight. It says something that I was in the market for around ~$1000 machines and ended up with this one at a significant discount. I still like the XPS 13 but they seemed so close, it wasn't worth about $500 more for a similar configuration. The MacBook and Surface Laptop still lack the new processors which is strikes me slightly as lazy at this point when every other maker has them. Again, the HP Spectre X360 felt off in the touchpad which was a total dealbreaker, and more flimsy than this unit. This laptop isn't perfect but in a crowded market really strikes me as a great deal, great overall unit, and the best fit for me. I don't usually make such a long review, but I have been looking into every aspect of this class of laptop lately so I hope this helps someone. I do recommend it!

I only ended up paying $650 for this laptop due to a sale that was going on and a student discount of $100. I have to say that I've enjoyed the laptop so far. I've had it for five months now and the only issue I've had is the wifi card. It kept dropping the signal whenever I would use it and I know it was not an issue on my end since I'd be streaming with my Amazon Fire TV when it happened and it kept going just fine. I ended up replacing it with an Intel 9260 card because there was no guarantee that Lenovo wouldn't put another faulty Realtek back in if I sent it to them. I haven't had a single problem since then and I am back to enjoying this amazing laptop. I don't use the 2-in-1 feature super often but it is a nice option to have and the Lenovo Active Pen 2 works great with it. I've got a coloring app through the Microsoft Store and I will say I had a blast using the pen with that. Again, I have no complaints overall. It's been a smooth experience and I'd recommend this to anyone that's looking for a great laptop with a nice, solid build for everyday use. The only thing I'd recommend is getting a matte screen protector. It makes the world of difference since the glossy screen is super reflective like a mirror and that can be very distracting

I read some of the reviews before buying this about the screen flickering issue and thought that there would be no way I'd get one of the laptops with that issue. I've had the laptop about two months and have been plagued for the last month with the flicker. It has gotten to the point where the screen becomes unusable when it is having one of its flickering episodes. I took it into GeekSquad last week to get everything updated and had high hopes that it would come out fixed. This was in alignment with the recommendations Lenovo has made in response to other reviews on the flickering issue. Last night as I was sitting down to do some homework, the flicker reared its ugly head again (one day after picking it back up from GeekSquad). The way I get it to go away is by moving the lid or slightly tapping the side of the machine (makes me think it is hardware related). I can almost guarantee that the response from Lenovo will be that I need to update drivers (that's why I went to GeekSquad) or that I need to reach out to technical support, which will in turn require me to send the machine to a service center (I chatted with them briefly a month ago, and that's what they wanted me to do). The problem is that I am in school and need a machine to do school work. I can't go without a machine while I'm waiting for it to be repaired. I hate writing a negative review because I really like the look and feel of the laptop. It is the perfect size and really was what I was looking for. That being said, I don't feel that it is unfair to expect a laptop to be dependable and usable two months after purchase. From what I'm seeing in other reviews, a number of people aren't having this issue, so maybe I just got one of the lemons. Feel free to roll the dice...

My computer is very fast and charge as quickly as well. Does everything I wanted to do and is nice and compact. In the first week I had an issue with the screen flickering but it only did it once and has not done it again in the last eight weeks. Hopefully that will continue. Great laptop.

This laptop is great for anyone who is going to be on the go. It is small, light, fast, and has a surprisingly good battery life! I got a really good deal with this on clearance, plus it was an open box model that was just missing the charger. The sales associate hooked me up with a free charger and in total with a year of protection I paid around 650. Super good deal for this laptop. I was looking for something that would be good for school-related productivity (occasional web-browsing, text editing, and accessing online courses) and some light programming. It has served me well for both and it's speed keeps me productive. I carry it around all day and it's small footprint and light weight make it very easy to transport. The battery has also lasted me sometimes two days of on and off use at full brightness without having to charge, and even when I do have to charge it can restore to 100% within an hour. This certainly wouldn't be my go-to if I was looking specifically for a 2-in-1, but it is a nice feature to have as a little bonus. The port selection is good for someone looking to keep things minimalistic, but it is a shame one of the dual thunderbolt 3 ports doubles as the charging port, which could be limiting. The fingerprint sensor is great, I can boot and log in under 5 seconds. The touchpad feels nice, and the keyboard is very responsive and feels great to type on. It was a little stiff at first but I got used to it fast! There are some cons about this laptop though. The first is the build quality, which is middling. The chassis feels solid and the keyboard doesn't flex, but the hinges have actually slightly warped the screen, and it doesn't line up correctly with the bottom of the chassis when it is closed. The screen warp is hardly noticeable, but it is there and you can see it when the laptop is closed. That being said, I haven't had any issues with the screen flickering, which I've heard is more of a problem on the 15 inch versions. Another con is that basically everything will have to be updated on this machine. You will have to manually update everything from Windows 10 (through the update assistant on their website) to basically every driver. Some of the drivers actually require updates to get the 2-in-1 functionality working. TLDR: If you can get a good deal on it this laptop is great for someone looking for an affordable, on-the-go machine that can handle lots of school or productivity-related tasks, though some devices may suffer from iffy quality control.
