About this product
It's the middle of February 2008 and a crowd of friends has gathered up in a rather small practice area in the city of Kumla to watch the first ever performance of Swedish hardcore-punk act Let Me Out, not more than six months before had the band start to practice on a regular basis. After this, their first show, things happened faster than anyone could have anticipated. The band play their first InchrealInch show in a bar in Västerås not more than a week after, and heads in the studio to record their first demo the week after that. More shows follows and only a month had passed when Japanese record tag Akashic Records contacts the band eager to the demo as a split . Let Me Out suggests their good friends in hardcore act First Cut and the split is released in May. Only weeks following the , in June, the band heads out on a 15 date long European tour taking them thru Poland, Czech Republic, Germany, England and Belgium. Sadly, the van carrying the band broke down and the tour was cut short, but good news awaited the band back home, where the band signed with labels Dead Vibrations Industry (Swe) and Warbird Entertainment (US) as well as an arrangement being set up with Onward Agency to book future European tours.

Ease My Mind, the fifth full-length by Shout Out Louds, is a welcome return from these Swedish pop masters. Ease My Mind was recorded with Fredrik Swahn (from the band The Amazing) who filled the band with such new energy that they were willing to commute to the 'burbs during the darkest months of the year. He was joined by Måns Lundberg who produced the song InchSouvenirsInch and Axel Algmark who produced InchNo LogicInch and InchAngel.Inch The band recruited Lars Skoglund for drums, known for his work with Lykke LI.

On Room Inside the World-Ought's third album and first for Merge-growing up doesn't mean mellowing out so much as it means learning to pay attention, listening carefully and openly, staying somewhere long enough to really understand where you are. Recorded at Rare Book Room in Brooklyn with producer Nicolas Vernhes (Deerhunter, Animal Collective, Silver Jews), Room Inside the World explores themes that have always concerned the band- identity, connection, survival in a precarious world-but with a bolder, more nuanced sound palette. Vibraphone, justly intonated synthesizers, drum machines, and a 70-piece choir suffuse the precise post-punk breakdowns that spangled Ought's first two albums, giving rise to an emotional complexity that pushes their characteristically taut sound to greater depths.
