This brand new 1/35 scale plastic model kit of the German Pz.Kpfw.35(t) Light Tank by Airfix comes in the manufacturer’s original unopened box with vintage style packaging. The kit is officially licensed and contains over 100 detailed parts molded in light brown unless otherwise indicated. Paint and cement are required but not included, and the model does not include a display stand. Decals are provided to create two different schemes, and the assembled model measures approximately L-5.51, W-2.32 inches. The Panzerkampfwagen 35(t), originally developed as the Czechoslovak LT vz. 35, was adopted by Nazi Germany after the occupation of Czechoslovakia in 1939. Produced by Škoda and ČKD, it was advanced for its time, featuring a 37mm main gun, 49mm frontal armor, and a reliable Praga engine. Designated Pz.Kpfw.35(t) by the Wehrmacht, the tank played a key role in early World War II campaigns, performing effectively during the Invasion of Poland in 1939 and the Battle of France in 1940, though its limitations became apparent in cold climates and against newer enemy armor. Its final major service was during Operation Barbarossa in 1941, where harsh terrain and inadequate winterization challenged its performance. As more capable German tanks like the Panzer III and IV entered service, the 35(t) was gradually withdrawn from the frontlines, with some units continuing in secondary roles or with allied armies such as those of Slovakia and Romania. This 1:35 scale model captures riveted armor panels, accurate suspension components, and fine surface textures, making it an ideal addition for collectors and enthusiasts interested in Germany’s early Blitzkrieg tactics and the contribution of Czech engineering to the Wehrmacht’s early successes.
