This brand new plastic model kit features the Supermarine Walrus Mk.I Aircraft at Level 3 in 1/48 scale by Airfix. The kit comes in vintage-style, officially licensed packaging and contains 157 detailed parts molded primarily in light gray, unless otherwise indicated. A display stand is not included, and paint and cement are required for assembly. The assembled model measures approximately 9.375 inches in length and 11.5 inches in wingspan, and includes decals to depict the aircraft in three different schemes. The Supermarine Walrus Mk.I was a British amphibious reconnaissance aircraft designed by R.J. Mitchell, the famed engineer behind the Supermarine Spitfire. First flown in 1933, the Walrus was a robust biplane flying boat constructed primarily from metal and powered by a single Bristol Pegasus engine in a pusher configuration above the wing. Designed with folding wings for shipboard storage and catapult-launch capability from Royal Navy cruisers and battleships, it excelled in naval reconnaissance and air-sea rescue operations.
