About this product
2017 from the British singer/songwriter. Midnight, the Oxford singer's sensational second album, is testament to that change. Written and recorded entirely under his own stream, with friends as collaborators it's a sonic leap on from his largely acoustic debut - bigger, bolder, beautifully textured and more experimental, but still as brutally honest and achingly intimate as his bewitching early EPs. InchIt's an evolution from my first album,Inch says Lewis. InchIt's grander, heavier and more electronic. I still like acoustic music - and there are some quieter songs on there - but I also love Death Cab For Cutie, Bombay Bicycle Club and Bon Iver. It is a big change, but it's still me. Maybe me with added spice.Inch Recorded in just three weeks last summer at The Vale in Warwickshire and produced by Lewis' close friend Anthony West of Oh Wonder, Midnight was made without any tag involvement.

2020 . Recorded over the course of a year with producer/engineer Richard Wilkinson (Bombay Bicycle Club, Lianne La Havas, Honne) at his studio in Tufnell Park, The Love That You Want is the confident sound of a duo working at the top of their game, pushing each other to create a truly special album that should take the highly successful yet somewhat still undiscovered Oxford musician to much broader audience. Aside from the strings, Lewis and Richard play every instrument on the album.
Vinyl LP pressing. 2019 . Athens GA's Yip Deceiver returns with a six song EP. Influences of punk, rock, R&B, and pop are all glued together by the synth driven production of Davey Pierce (Inkwell, of Montreal).

Saxophonist and composer James Brandon Lewis possesses an inspiring energy. His deep curiosity and the thrill he gets from discovery are crucial facets of his personality, and qualities that guide his art. Over the last half-decade he's emerged as one of the most exciting figures in jazz and improvised music, a voracious listener who rejects stylistic hierarchies and one that has feverishly explored new ideas and embraced fresh motivations with every new project. Inspired by molecular biology James Brandon develops a special system for a surprising and beautiful music with his Quartet with drummer Chad Taylor, pianist Aruán Ortiz, and bassist Brad Jones. He has taken the idea of a InchMolecular Systematic MusicInch to heart in the formulation of the compositions featured on the stunning debut album by this quartet. James Brandon Lewis says InchI wrote out everything, but the reason I feel like the music is still free is because the lines dictate the harmonic information. With this band the music is going to lift off the page.Inch Listen to the recordings The James Brandon Lewis Quartet takes off with an exuberant joy of playing and that rhythmic intensity and thematic beauty that is rooted in the jazz tradition.
