    Very effective

    Very effective keeping a studio apartment comfortable even in a heat wave. It's been said that for 250 sq ft 9 ft high ceilings it should be 8000 btu but 6000 btu has been keeping it comfortable. This is despite the fact that yes it does draw in and creat "negative pressure". It should be helpful to make sure to block gaps around apartment door to prevent outside air,but in a 100+ old building it isn't possible to make a hermetical seal. So I'm sleeping very comfortably at 75-78 setting. I should add that it was delivered very fast, 1½ days, on time and in good condition by FedEx.

    LG 250 Sq Ft. works well, hardware lacking

    The unit is very adequate for cooling regular and small sized rooms. Associated hardware for window installation lacking as compared to LG's higher powered units.

This is a basic unit where only the compressor will cycle off when it reaches its set temperature. The fan does not cycle off, and it will continue running non-stop to ensure consistent airflow and to prevent the internal temperature sensor from misreading the room's ambient air. We are unaware of any reported circuit board issues for this unit. Several factors can cause a portable air conditioner's printed circuit board (PCB) to fail. The most common culprit is overheating, which is often caused by clogged air filters that restrict airflow and force the unit to work harder. Lightning strikes or sudden power grid spikes can instantly fry delicate board components like capacitors or resistors. Heavy vibrations from the compressor can cause wire harnesses or solder joints on the board to crack and loosen over time, and sharing a wall outlet with other high-draw appliances can overload the circuit and cause electrical damage to the board...^Ivan..

    When the internal water tank for the LG 250 Sq. Ft. 6,000 BTU DOE Portable Air Conditioner - White Model # LP0625WFR gets full, the LED display will show FL and the air conditioner will turn off until the tank is emptied, so you will need to unplug the air conditioner, disconnect the exhaust hose from the back, and move the air conditioner to a suitable drain location or outdoors. You can also place a pan under the drain that will hold up to 2 pints of water...^Ivan.
