    Worth the investment

    We recently acquired the 6000BTU version of the LG dual inverter AC and liked it so much that we decided to replace our larger unit with the 10000BTU version. What I like: The LG Smart Inverter window AC is significantly quieter than a traditional window unit. It also maintains the temperature much better throughout its cycling - no more of the loud on/off sounds of the compressor or gross warm air in eco mode. We also really like the ThinQ technology, which we were able to integrate into our Habitat smart home system and connect to our whole house thermostat. What I don't like: It is REALLY heavy! We opted to add a large window AC bracket and semi-permanently mount the window unit so that we didn't have to worry about the weight of the AC pulling on our window frame. This required us to add some additional weather stripping, but the pieces that came with the AC are generally sufficient for most installs. This unit is located in our living room, with full south-facing exposure. It does a much better job keeping our house cool than our previous AC, though we still probably could have used the next size up given the sun exposure and lack of insulation in our old house. We will probably replace our 3rd window AC with one of these eventually, as well, so that everything can be connected to the thermostat and controlled remotely.

    Finally a AC that’s efficient and works well.

    I’ve had this ac since December of 2024 and so far it works very well. When setting up the Thin Q app it was easy to connect and see details and change settings on the unit from the phone. The filter is easy to clean and put in. Noise isn’t to bad compared to generic old units on the market. Energy use is low plus with the app I know exactly how much power is being used on my lg devices in my home. The setup is quick and easy to do. Air flow is great and icy cold. Overall I recommend getting one!

    Quieter than expected and cools quickly.

    I had an older version of this A/C at a lower BTU of 8000. It worked great for 15 years and then just died. Can't say anything bad about that. So I bought the LG brand again, this time at 10,000 BTU with dual inverter temperature control and it is even better. It's super quiet, even on the highest setting. I am able to direct the airflow up, down, left or right, which is key for my apartment layout. So many other brands no longer have this functionality it seems, which I found out in my research before purchasing. Set-up was easy and the 10,000BTU unit was only slightly larger in size than the 8,000BTU one, which I was pleasantly surprised at. It cools the room and my extended spaces quickly. The remote control is great and there is also the capability to use my phone with Wi-FI to control it or turn it on from elsewhere, though I have not utilized that yet. Overall, it's only been about 1 month, but I use it every day and am very pleased.

    Best AC unit I’ve purchased.

    It’s a great little AC unit, for the size of it it cools down the room in a short amount of time. If I set it to 60 degrees and max fan speed the room feels cooler within 3 mins. The set up was easy, the instructions were clear to understand and it was my first time ever installing a window AC unit. The filter needs to be replaced roughly every 250 hours that’s it’s powered on and all you have to do is wash the filter. Rinse it with cold/lukewarm water and clean it to get all the debris off the filter, dry it with a paper towel and once it looks dry, pop it back into the AC and it’s ready to go for another cycle. Comes with a remote control and is controllable via ThinQ App. Set a schedule for when you want it to turn of or set a delay timer to have it turn on within specific time.
