    LG or Samsung? My Comparison

What value! Man, seriously...A 65" TV for $300? What is this world coming to? I recall not too long ago paying 3X as much for a 50" TV that had less features and was bigger and heavier. One issue relating directly to Best Buy. They flash this TV all the time for $329 online (seems to be perpetually on sale, which is fine). I'm glad I went into the Saginaw, MI store to finalize my purchase (I was torn between the Samsung* and the LG* of equal size, features and price; so we planned to solicit the staff for their input). Much to my amazement, they had BOTH brands marked in-store at $299. I'm glad I didn't order online for in-store pickup! For the record, the equal Samsung version was also $329 online and $299 in-store. So--it never hurts to ask! Check our your local BB for possibly better prices on these or any other TV! While these $299 (or $329) TVs are definitely the entry level model they both look awesome in-store, and since they're for our basement (as seen in the pic; both TVs shown are brand-new LGs) and we do no gaming...This TV will serve us fine for our purpose. Any 'cons' in reviews are pretty much nit-picking (the remote has TOO MANY buttons/features?!?!). And despite it not mentioning it greatly, both LG and Samsung, unlike Sony and others, has the Charter Spectrum app (which is now the largest cable company in the US)...So, seamless connectivity to those with Spectrum service! I believe in both brands. We just bought a new Samsung fridge. LOVE IT. We just replaced our 20-year old LG washer and dryer (that gave us no problems!) with a new LG set. LOVE THEM. Anything I found online says both TV brands are basically interchangeable at the top. Sony generally has high ratings too, but many say that the extra price you pay for equivalent Sony TVs is just for that Sony name, (And maybe Japanese branding over the two Korean brands). * = Why I chose LG over Samsung; 1. The helpful BB associate pointed out that Apple AirPlay 2 is the primary casting method (from devices to TV) on LG. It's secondary and requires extra steps on Samsung TVs. Just a little more seamless with the LG. 2. I'm not 100% sure how it works, but I read and was confirmed that LGs support Alexa/Amazon better than Samsung. Kind of like casting in #2, it's apparently on Samsungs, but just not as user friendly. 3. Our research showed LGs are praised for their WebOS, their simple user interface that ranks higher than Samsung's Tizen. 4. Consumer Reports says Sony and LG are the most reliable. I think we're splitting hairs here. I'm sure we'd be equally happy if we went with Samsung. I literally had the Samsung 65" equivalent loaded onto the shopping cart in-store at one point before I found out that the LG was also $299 instead of the advertised $329 price. Yes, for $30 difference, I'd have gone the other way. I think if you're an Android user, particularly Samsung phones/tablets, Samsung is probably the way to go. But since we're Apple and LG is a little more Apple / iOS friendly, we stuck with LG. But yeah, we're happy with the TV so far. Great picture quality, intuitive interface. Good quality overall and I still can't believe the prices of TVs these days! Sound isn't the greatest, but with these TVs so thin, what do you expect these days? Can't exactly have a quality subwoofer on a 3" thick TV now, can you?!?!?

    Luv it!! Beautiful picture=)

This is a great buy for this beautiful t.v. I'm shocked it was this cheap. I luv LG t.v's...This is my 6th LG and they are reliable t.v's. easy to set up... beautiful picture. Looks great even in a bright room. I bought this for my dad for his 90th Birthday and he loves it. He didn't like the remote it is hard to see. My other LG remotes are bigger. So I replaced his remote with a universal remote for seniors that lights up. Now he loves it even more. So much so he asked me to buy him another one for his bedroom so i did. I did change the t.v settings to VIVID and I turned the energy saver mide off now the picture really looks gorgeous. Buy this t.v you will love it!!

    Very capable TV

I am very pleased with my LG 65" UA7050 TV. The picture is bright and clear, and the sound is excellent. I have the TV paired to my LG Soundbar for even better sound. One feature I'm very pleased with is the Live TV function. I have an antenna in my attic for OTA (Over-the-Air) channels. I like watching the local news in the morning. My previous TV, a Toshiba, had trouble showing the channels reliably, but this LG TV does great! The WebOS from Google is nice to work with. My main complaint is the remote control. It is full-featured, which is great, but it uses Bluetooth, and it can be very selective about how I need to hold the remote for it to make changes on the TV. This isn't a major problem, just an occasional annoyance. Another thing I don't like about the remote is that the directional arrows, which are used most often, are low on the remote, meaning they are near the bottom. In my hands, this doesn't give me good support for the remote while I try to activate the buttons, but again this is an annoyance, not a major problem. All in all I am very pleased with this TV.

    Best tv ever

I got this for my 60yr old mom for a Christmas gift as i helped her finally get into her own place after spending 4yrs in a hotel all while fighting cancer so this was her Christmas gift for her new place and she absolutely loves it as she has never had a nice tv let alone a 64in before . She dont see well and this was a huge help for her . The picture quality is great and the sound is amazing. One thing lg could do better on is actually add the smart remote with these big tvs.

Questions & Answers
  • Can I transport the TV laying it down

It is not recommended to transport the LG 65” Class UA7050 Series LED AI 4K UHD Smart webOS TV (2025), Model # 65UA7050PUB, or any other TV, regardless of type, brand, or manufacturer, lying flat. While it may fit in your vehicle this way, it poses a high risk of damaging the screen due to improper weight distribution, vibrations, and pressure points, which can cause internal damage or cracked panels. Upright transport is always the safest method...^Ivan.
