WOW! I've never had a dishwasher this nice!!
This dishwasher is practically silent. The only way I know it is running is by checking the time left, or hearing it drain into the sink. The app is nice to know when the load has finished!

Near Silent Operation
After some delays for the actual deliver of the product it is now installed and up and running. Near silent operation, we've had Samsung and Bosch in our last 2 homes and this LG is superior. Much quieter, significantly more intuitive/easier to use than the Samsung and quieter than both the Bosch and Samsung, both of which were at or near the top tier of products (I will point out that I am not comparing the LG to the 800 series or Benchmark series of Bosch products). LG also seems to hold more dishes. Very satisfied with the purchase to date.

Do not believe the 40db advertisement
This dishwasher does clean and dry well. I also found it easy to load, and I love how easy the racks glide. The lighted interior is a nice touch too. However, the dishwasher is not 40db quiet. It is not even close. My last GE dishwasher was 46db and was about the same level. The dishwasher does run quietly in different parts of the cycle, but when it increases the pressure for power washing, it gets noisy (even with a full dishwasher). On top of that, the dishwasher uses very little water, and it will on periodically start sucking air (water runs out in the basin) and sound louder. I have strong pressure, but the dishwasher fills on a timer not on an actual water level sensor. It is just not a great design. BestBuy rocks! They allowed me to trade in for a Bosch 800 - much better dishwasher!
