Q: Does this bulb connect to a 5G network? Most are limited to 2.4G. Thanks
A: No. You have to configure it in 2.4. Then you can switch back to your 5G and control them. Makes absolutely no sense to me.
Q: Is this a stand alone light? Does it work with an app and bluetooth? No bridge or Wi-Fi.
A: It is a stand alone bulb. It has no hub and connects over WiFi. The bulb doesn’t have Bluetooth functionality. In my personal opinion it is the best smart bulb on the market. I’ve never ran into any connection issues. And everything is controlled by the lifx app which is really well designed. Hope this helps.
Q: Will this work with a 4G LTE hotspot, and stay on when it's turned off?
A: This will work with a 4G LTE hotspot since that device is creating an internet connected WiFi network. When the hotspot is turned off the light will continue to stay on but will no longer be able to be controlled from the app or other smart devices. You will have to manually turn off the light and it will maintain the last settings it had (brightness/color) when it was last connected.
Q: Are these compatible with the google home mini?
A: Yes they are.
Q: Can these be used outside on my covered front porch?
A: Yes, just no direct weather :)
Q: will I be able to dim light or change color with Amazon Alexa APP?
A: Yes, tell Alex to set “light name” to “color”
Q: Are there any known motion sensors out on the market that are compatible with LIFX?
A: Samsung SmartThings has motion sensors that work with our lights.
Q: Is this bulb enough to light a bed room? (4x5m)
A: one bulb lights up my 10ft by 11 ft room just fine! i have two though and it makes it much better and brighter when using the colors. when using a cool white at 100%, i would say you will be just fine with one bulb!
