About this product
Pierrot's Lunaires endeavors to seek out and make known a 20th and 21st century repertory that is often unknown to the public. Considered by Romantic composers as too austere to be worthy of attention, the duo of violin and cello became, after WWI, a favorite means of expression for composers seeking new sounds to express a new aesthetic. Violinist Mélanie Clapiès and cellist Yan Levionnois met in 2009 during a series of string ensemble concerts and soon decided to form a violin and cello duo.

Kodály Quartet - String Quartets Op 2 [COMPACT DISCS] date 03/18/2003
The fifth M. Ward album and his most absorbing yet. It's songs unravel their world-wearied tales of life, love, and human kindness with an innate and special grace, helped in part by the very talented friends who join him on this record, such as Neko Case and Mike Mogis, as well as old InchMonsters of FolkInch touring buddy Jim James (My Morning Jacket). Look for him on tour this fall.
