About this product
Forever was a record that was written and recorded one track at a time with my husband Coley. After scrapping about 20 songs or so I had written the last few years, I wanted to get to the heart of things. I had a great talk with a friend on the phone and she mentioned she just wasn't sure where I'd been. I realized I wasn't really certain of that either. It'd been a foggy few years after 2020, and the pieces seemed to just be starting to be picked up. I had fallen in love, gotten married, had a dog, a house... things I had always dreamed of. But it took my quite some time to accept them as my life. For a bit, I felt like an outsider watching myself stumble though everything, and was constantly critiquing myself, to the point where I could hardly leave the house for a bit. But then I realized my life was passing me by, and the love I was living in required presence to accept. I started to do the little things you have to do to just show up for people listen, grow, change, write... get outside of my own problems. Time is flying, and I want to be here for it all rather than lost in my thoughts all the time. My love is forever. When I was a kid I used to say to my mom and dad InchI love you forever and alwaysInch then neurotically changed it to InchI love you forever and always and it's true and I mean itInch... because I wanted to make sure they knew how much I wasn't messing around! I still feel that way when I say InchI love youInch to anyone and hope it comes across on this record. Love y'all forever! Album Tracks 1. Hidden Day 2. Shouldn't Be 3. Ghost Ship 4. Somewhere 5. Evelyn's House 6. Forever 7. Man 8. Kwik-E-Mart 9. Thoughts

This record was written mostly in the summer of 2016 in my apartment off of Trinity Lane. A few tunes came out on the road as well. After moving out of an ex's house, I settled into a new neighborhood down the road. Shortly after, I picked up a tour with my good friend John Moreland where we went to the West Coast and back. I was trailing them in my little 2002 Honda Accord that has literally been all over the country with me. A woman in my early 30s, I found myself sick of my same old S**t. I was inspired by the landscape of the west. My faith was tested on the curves of the Highway 101 through the Red Woods. I got terrifyingly stoned on weed gummy bears in Denver. I saw real cowboys in Wyoming and drove through a flood in Arkansas. I felt displaced, but connected. Upon returning to the south, my home of Tennessee, I slunk back into my nook off of Trinity. I went over all the things I'd seen. There had been a freedom in being so far away - a lack of responsibility, a distance from some of the issues, if you will, though I'd carried them right with me, back to my birthplace of Los Angeles, peering over the ocean, wondering how you can come so far yet end up in the same place. I contemplated fleeing and just staying in California, but the south is my home and I had to deal with what needed to be dealt with. I started to write. And go to the park. And listen to records. And play my guitar every night. Every time I wanted a man, I picked up my guitar. Every time I wanted a drink, I picked up my guitar. Love will take you to the darkest places but also to the most honest places if you let it. Learning how to love myself is something I've always been lousy with, and I spent some time on that. I thought about my sobriety, what that means to me, the struggles I'd had throughout the years, since I was a 27-year-old and hung up my toxic drinking habit. I thought about my mothe

Lilly Hiatt felt lost. She'd just returned home from the better part of a year on tour in support of her acclaimed third album, Trinity Lane, and, stripped of the daily rituals and direction of life on the road, she found herself alone with her thoughts for the first time in what felt like ages. So Hiatt did what's always come most natural to her in times of questioning and uncertainty she picked up a guitar. Over the course of the ensuing winter, she wrote a mountain of new music that grappled with her sense of self and place in the world, reckoning with issues that had been bubbling beneath the surface of her subconscious in some cases for years. The result is Walking Proof, Hiatt's fourth and most probing collection to date. Produced by former Cage the Elephant guitarist Lincoln Parish, the record walks the line between Hiatt's rough, rock and roll exterior and her tender, country roots, exuding a bold vulnerability as she takes a deep and unflinching look in the mirror. What emerges is a newfound maturity in Hiatt's writing, an abiding sense of calm in the face of chaos as she learns that sometimes, you have to let go in order to get what you want most. By the time she headed into Parish's Nashville studio in May, Hiatt had piled up more than twenty-five new songs, and with the producer's help, she pared it down to a tight and cohesive eleven. After capturing the core performances live with her band over the course of roughly a week, Hiatt devoted the early part of the summer to finishing touches, which included contributions from friends like Amanda Shires and Aaron Lee Tasjan along with a guest appearance from her father, legendary songwriter John Hiatt, who joins his daughter on record for the first time here. Lilly Hiatt's not feeling so lost these days, and with Walking Proof, she's crafted a roadmap to share with the rest of us. Album Tracks 1. Rae 2

On March 3rd, East Nashville firebrand Lilly Hiatt will Royal Blue - the feisty, adventurous and smart follow-up to her critically lauded debut full-length Let Down. Recorded at producer Adam Landry's (Deertick, Diamond Rugs, T. Hardy Morris) Nashville studio Playground Sound, the twelve new tracks skirt the edges of any neat genre definitions, boldly combining sounds of Austin folk rock, Pacific Northwest indie, pre-Oasis Britpop, 90's alt guitars, 00's indie synthesizers and New York punk circa 1977. Often presented with naked autobiographical candor, the new collection of songs is filtered through a wide spectrum of lenses - flashes of humor, attitude, deep worry and gritty determination can be heard - but ultimately, Hiatt would rather rock than mope. Album Tracks 1. Far Away 2. Off Track 3. Too Bad 4. Get This Right 5. Worth It 6. Somebody's Daughter 7. Jesus Would've Let Me Pick the Restaurant 8. Heart Attack 9. Your Choice 10. Machine 11. I Don't Do Those Things Anymore 12. Royal Blue
