After nearly two decades of collaboration, both in live performance and installation projects, Elective Affinities marks the first recording project from Andrea Parkins and Matthew Ostrowski. These eight works represent the current state of their shared sonic explorations, which have been driven by their philosophical as much as their musical interchanges over the years. A shared fascination with physical and musical gestures, densely interwoven meshes of events, and the aesthetics of interruption and breakage lay the groundwork for this album of intricate assemblages, recorded in real time. Incorporating concrete sounds, both live and sampled, cutting-edge synthesis techniques, live processing, and instrumental and acoustic feedback, Elective Affinities is a study of valences, of molecular combinations and recombinations, of forms in states of development, flux, and collapse. 1. Portland, OR solo-outfit Mizmor will a highly-anticipated and massive offering titled, Wit's End on January 14, 2022 via Gilead Media. Following Mizmor's critically acclaimed 2019 full-length, Cairn, which received high praise from the likes of NPR, Metal Hammer, Decibel Magazine, Brooklyn Vegan, AV Club, and so many more, Wit's End shows raw power flowing seamlessly through songwriting mastery. Merging pitch-black doom laced with hauntingly emotive and ambient sentiments, glacial yet undulating soundscapes, and personal confessions of lost faith and the disenchantment of modern society, Mizmor has created sonic compositions condemned with passages of shadowed, existential dread. Wit's End will be released in deluxe which includes an exclusive DVD featuring a brilliantly hand-drawn and animated music video by Zev Deans for the track InchWit's EndInch. The video originally premiered as an exclusive feature in the Spring of 2021 as part of Roadburn Redux.1. Wit's End2. Pareidolia

Thy Shining Curse is the solo musical project of a death metal initiate, Leonidas, with a primary focus on the practice of hierurgical artistry through symphonic methexis and hermetic imagery. Founded in 2021 in Pittsburgh, US, the band is dedicated to the vision of it's founder, aiming to create an immersive mystical experience by invoking the archetypical instincts of man via powerful symbolism, following the principles of the Pythagorean tradition, the Eleusinian mysteries, Neoplatonism and Western Esotericism. The depiction of it's members is purposefully avoided. Instead, two mysterious figures act as the band's visual representatives, Celeus and Celeucis. Their purpose is to complement the auditory experience with a subliminal initiation to the visual language of symbols, acting as modern-day hierophants.
