Liv Glaser - Lyrical Travels with Grieg: Selected Lyrical Piece - COMPACT DISCS [CD]

Liv Glaser - Keyboard Sonatinas [COMPACT DISCS] date 10/23/2006

The summer of 1945 marked a key moment in Calloway's career, as he performed at Café Zanzibar, a jazz hotspot in New York City. The broadcasts from this period capture the essence of Calloway's artistry, featuring beloved classics and innovative arrangements. His renditions of tracks like InchSt. Louis BluesInch and InchI Can't Give You Anything But Love, BabyInch showcase his flair for breathing new life into familiar material while pushing jazz's boundaries.

As Paul Crossley says, InchChoosing a group of Grieg Lyric Pieces is not easy - they are that good. Even when I had recorded them, there were more than would fit on one CD, so 'culling them' was even worse. The pieces were published as 10 separate books, so I wanted to include at least one piece from each (if I seem to favor Book 3, Op. 43, it does have some of the best!), and I have listed the pieces in chronological order because there is a distinct emotional journey to be followed.Inch
