My pen has a crack in it & I am 6 days passed the return date. Not happy.

I was excited about this pen for the first couple of weeks. The recording quality was good and syncing with the app made it great to keep track of the notes I take for work. Unfortunately the quality of the pen was poor. Within a couple of weeks first the ink ran out and I had to purchase replacement ink. I could have lived with that.. the worst was the center chamber of the pen developed a crack causing the pen to close with any pressure when writing. While looking up the warranty (best buy return policy had passed) I found that this was a common issue with this model. I hope they have rectified this with other models. I was left with a broken pen for a high price and equally bad warranty.

This is a great pen. Its features of recording the writing and sound convenient and makes interviewing and note taking a breeze. The pen is a little bulky. The ink cartridges are aggravating because they stop writing more frequently than they should, but if you keep writing, even if there is no ink coming from the pen, your impressions on the special paper will still show up in the app and whatever software you choose to sync to.

So this pen is super cool. Pretty much does exactly what you think it should do. The only thing that’s not cool about it is that you can’t use the computer with it, just phones and tablets :(

I'm an attorney and prefer to write down my thoughts for a living. Before LiveScribe I used to scan my handwritten notes to our network which was a pain. Now I can just write my notes, share them from my phone and voila, they're instantly available. I love the convenience. The accuracy is phenomonal. My only issue is the paper/notebooks. I can't find any in stores so I'm forced to buy them online. Not a big deal, but does require planning when using them. Also note that the pen refills must be purchased online. I'd definitely buy some extra refills ahead of time so you don't run out and go without any ink. Note that the pen is "fat" but I like it. It's a little different than writing with a normal sized pen but I like the comfort of a bigger device. It took minimal "retraining" of my hand. I wish battery life was longer, only lasts a couple of days of moderate use, but you can't have everything. At least it charges quickly.

For any Livescribe fans out there thinking about switching from the Livescribe+ Pro 3 Evernote Edition, to the Black Edition, you will not be sorry if you make a change. My wife and I both have the Livescribe+ Pro 3, and in our opinion, it looks a little too gimmicky. It's shiny, bulky, and kind of gets in the way when we meet with clients. Although we like the functionality, it's really hard to use it consistently just because it stands out like a sore thumb. The black addition is sleek, does not stand out at all, and feels less intrusive because it doesn't really call any attention to itself. This pen is perfect. And also grips a little bit better because the exterior is not smooth and shiny, which has caused me to lose grip, and the pen slides out of my hand when using me Livescribe+ Pro 3. The Matte black exterior of the black edition causes it to be a little more tacky, and stays in your hand better. I get this a 10.

I'm a writer and write a lot. I bought the Livescribe 3 to capture what I've historically been writing in misc. journals. The Concept is Great, but the cost of specialized paper makes the Return On Investment a Fail, when compared to writing on a Tablet like the Samsung Tab AS (With Stylus), which I bought when I returned the Livescribe 3.

I purchased this pen to replace my pulse smartpen when I could no longer see/read the digital screen; there was audio, but no visuals. This is a great upgrade. It is easier to grasp, I like the all black colour and it has a much better writing grip/feel on paper.

If you are challenged in note taking, this is the assistance you need. Records the spoken word as you write enabling a review of both your notes and what was actually said. A must for the dyslexic learner.

What an excellent likeness to my drawings! Wish I could use any paper instead of having to buy theirs, but the accuracy is worth it i think.

I find the audio record/sync with notes to be a very valuable feature. Unfortunately I can't record while on the phone which is my most frequent use case. Other than that it was fine but I had to return my purchase. My echo is fine.

This device came in handy during this past semester. I recorded all the instructors presentations and was able to utilize my notes from the recordings on the livescribe.

Easy to use. Very good for covering meetings and events when laptop recording is not practical or appropriate. Very interesting from a functional perspective.

Reviews led to believe it transferred writing to text, which it does not. Very confusing instructions. Would not recommend to a friend.

I enjoyed the pen for the week I had it. My biggest problem was that you needed to use a certain style of notebook to record the writing, but the notebook was cheap and flimsy.

It keeps me up to speed with information in meetings and I can share that information easily with my staff

I am capturing more personal notes than I have in quite sometime. The ability to jot a note and digitize it has brought greater organization to my daily routine.

pen works well and copies everything you write to the tablet as you are writing it. however, the pen does not even have a mic on it so in order to record a lecture a tablet or phone is also required to be out in the open on the table. that is the reason i ended up returning the pen and getting an live scribe echo

I am hopeful this will help with the tremendous volume of notes taken in law school. I will post again after use.
