College Of Knowledge Records present new signing Brenda, making their College Of Knowledge debut with two heartbreaking indie-soul ballads 'Where Did I Go Wrong?' and 'Family'.Brenda is the solo project of prolific ARIA-nominated drummer Hudson Whitlock. Known for his indefatigable creative output across multitudinous projects including Surprise Chef, Karate Boogaloo, The Pro-Teens and The Cactus Channel, Whitlock uses the Brenda moniker for his vocal music; as Brenda, Whitlock emerges as singer, in addition to composer, arranger and drummer. Brenda encompasses the left-field soul sensibilities for which Whitlock has come to be recognised and revered, alongside heartfelt, introspective lyricism delivered in a sincere, delicate falsetto. Stylistically, lines can be drawn to the 1960s sweet soul ballads of The Delfonics, Jean-Claude Vannier's vivid arrangements for Serge Gainsbourg, and, of course, the unmistakable flavour of Melbourne's cinematic soul movement à la other Whitlock exploits Surprise Chef and Karate Boogaloo.'Where Did I Go Wrong?' and 'Family', are two entrancingly melancholic ballads that heartfeltly express Whitlock's dramatic indie-soul sensibilities; encompassing the classically introspective nature of the poetic lyricist and the idiosyncratic use of soulful instrumental arrangements. True to his modest vagabond nature, Whitlock has 'released' six Brenda albums to date, each uploaded exclusively to bandcamp, glady resigning the music to the underground. These albums (2017's Think Nothing Of It and You're No Barry White, 2018's Wiggy and What A Trip, 2020's Hanging In, Hanging Out and LOVE IT) display Whitlock's indefatigable creativity; he creates every component of the project in total independence, playing every instrument, carrying recording and mixing duties and creating the artwork. In this new material, Whitlock relinquishes the isolationism of

Vinyl LP pressing. As part Anthology Recordings' Surf Archive series, we celebrate the soundtracks to Andrew Kidman's classic 1996 film Litmus alongside his 2006 follow up Glass Love. Litmus, Andrew Kidman's first avant-garde surf film, served as a soulful reaction to the pop-punk progression that dominated the InchalternativeInch mainstream. With the film's visceral and cerebral moodiness, folksy soundtrack, and meditative spirit, critics swooned over surf misfits like Wayne Lynch, Derek Hynd, Tom Curren, and Joel Fitzgerald. Despite the acclaim, the film was not much of a commercial success at the time. The aura of Litmus' soundtrack, however, has found it's cultish corner in the surf world.

Lil Lotus is the creative persona of LA based (Dallas, Texas born) singer / producer and multi-instrumentalist John InchEliasInch Villagran. He's garnered millions of streams and hundreds of thousands of listeners with his evocative lyrics, often issued in sorrowful serenades just as commonly as they are heard in pop-punk deliveries. As Lil Lotus, Villagran employs his seemingly limitless vocal range and draws from his vast array of influences in rock, pop-punk, and hip-hop to create genre-blending music. Lil Lotus' sound has evolved pivoting decisively into a new lane that is opened up in rock, and his new material is, by far, the strongest of his career.Lotus has collaborated with best in the scene across many genres, from his trio project, Boyfreindz, with his constant collaborators, emo rap/rockstars Lil Aaron and Smrtdeath, to his frontman gig with metalcore band, If I Die First, Lil Lotus is one of the hardest working singers in LA. ERRØR BØY will be Lil Lotus' first full length album and first physical . The album features the genre- crushing InchRomantic DisasterInch, an infectious electropop duet with charismatic singer Chrissy Costanza (Against The Current), as well as song features from Travis Barker and Lil Aaron.
