About this product

The highly anticipated long player from DJ, producer and musician Lorenzo Morresi alongside 22a tag boss, DJ, producer and musician Tenderlonious, sees them serve up 11 irresistible tracks inspired by Italo jazz funk and the Italian library sound. In the late 1960s and early 1970s Italian soundtrack and library music went through it's most experimental, prolific and dazzling period having a strong radio presence in both Europe and the US. Musicians and composers such as Piero Umiliani, Amleto Armando Roelens and even Ennio Morricone were regularly experimenting with idiosyncratic combinations of jazz, electronic, progressive, disco, funk and psych genres. It was their mutual love of these 60s and 70s soundtracks that brought Lorenzo Morresi and Tenderlonious together. After performing alongside each other at a festival in Italy back in 2017 the idea was quickly conceived to put together a fresh take starting with that early 1970s Italian style, using contemporary analogue inspired arrangements combined with experimental and joyful 'tongue-in-cheek' sounds that could work on the dance floor as well as at home. Tracks like InchNuda SorgenteInch, InchDoppio SognoInch and InchEstateInch are club oriented with a musical crossover from old- to- new. 'Estate' is a cover from the classic jazz standard by Italian singer Bruno Martino.Tender and Morresi worked tirelessly between Italy and London for approximately 2 years carefully shaping their album 'Cosmica Italiana' InchWith this project we've done our best to deliver our own interpretation of this wonderful era of Italian music and rediscover a beautiful genre, whilst maintaining a strong respect and admiration for the sounds that those original Italian masters created. Their records impressed and inspired us and we hope it will be the same for our listeners today.InchCosmica Italiana / Bazar Milano / Nuda Sorgente / Tema Cin

Lorenzo Senni - Scacco Matto - VINYL LP

Lorenzo Senni was never a raver. Growing up in Rimini, the young artist was fascinated by dance culture as he witnessed close friends interact with a neon-hued chemical world that remained at odds with his own. He inhabited the local straight edge hardcore punk scene, a teenage drummer who absorbed the golden age of trance and gabber anecdotally. Senni was a rave voyeur, studying hedonism from a distance, fascinated by it's maximalist, expressive charm. When Senni released InchQuantum JellyInch in 2012, it marked the beginning of an ongoing challenge. Using the aesthetic language of dance music (most notably the InchSupersawInch preset on Roland's iconic JP-8000 synthesizer), he allowed his outsider's curiosity to inform experimentation he branded Inchpointillistic tranceInch. Senni's suite of contradictions only added to the puzzle a trained percussionist who completely avoided the use of drums, a sober listener reinterpreting the signals of music rooted in the drug experience. Each record since then has refined this initial idea; Senni has learned in public, sculpting his sound and unpacking his shifting relationship with dance music while attempting to marry it with the thematic immediacy of straight edge rock music. With InchScacco MattoInch, Senni wanted to see how far he could push these ideas. The title means Inchcheck mateInch in Italian, and references the constant chess game Senni plays with himself when writing music. InchThere is a move and a countermove,Inch he explains. InchI always need something that limits the emotional elements of my tracks. That often means just not having something that you usually expect.Inch And unexpected elements are littered throughout the album, from opening track 'Discipline of Enthusiasm' with it's dramatic orchestral elements that counter elastic rave bleeps, to the innocent organ intro on 'Wasting Time Writing Lorenzo Senn
