Cameras are clear but, 15 fps does show a blur when objects or people are moving quickly in view. I still have to read about all of the functions of the system. Relatively easy to use. Although I like the deterrence features, if you have more than 30 fts to cover, a different lorex camera type may be for you. Alarm for this system will definitely get the attention of those around but not overly loud. Cameras have a metal shell for the camera but base is made of plastic. Lorex support had me download the Secure app but, I don't see access to deterrence features using this app. Will need to contact support again to find out why or if another app is what is needed. Overall, I'm satisfied. Will be adding a 5th camera that is more of the traditional bullet style with zoom ability to compliment this system.

This is a great starter set, you will need an internet connection and something to view the cameras on such as a pc monitor or tv with and HDMI or VGA connection. The hardest part will be to fish the ethernet cable through the attic and the walls. There are so many different security camera setup configurations out there it will make you crazy. You will be pleased with what you get with this package as a home owner, Excellent day and night resolution, two way communication, lights, siren, motion detection zones that will either flash the light, leave it on, chirp the siren, sound the siren, record or you can continuously record among other set up variables. You can also view from your Android or iPhone device, pc at home on your network or over the web with free software they provide, or tablet all this without any extra cost. Lorex also has cloud service but I did not subscribe to that. It is pretty much plug and play.

The cameras are awesome, great day and night video but the app in the Google store OMG...Zero stars for it! You need the app if you want to see the video on your phone. Forget about the 2 way voice stuff.

This system could be capable but is plagued with numerous issues preventing it from operating properly and reliably. First of all, the firmware needs to be upgraded for the 2-way talk/listen to work and the fact that this is a new system the upgrade needs to come from Lorex. There are two serious issues that are unacceptable; 1. The USB used to load and save settings has no way of Safely Ejecting so when you simply pull it out is corrupts the drive and you need to hope that Windows can fix-it! In my case Win-10 was successful doing so. I explained to the Lorex agent that this may happen and it did happen while he was on the phone with me. Secondly, I have the NVR on a UPS backup and when the backup battery ran out the unit shut-off and when the power came back on I was unable to log back in with the UN & PW I set up. The NVR had resorted back to the original out-of-box setup using admin & 00000000. Some of my settings were restored but some were not, luckily I had saved my settings after I got everything setup and was able to restore them from a USB drive. Another serious issue is that if you try different camera settings the system will eventually corrupt itself and the IR night vision will not work and you will get black grainy pictures. The solution I found was to set the cameras back to "Default" and proceed. Lastly, you wait on the phone for a long time (45 min ++) before you get an agent and the agent was not from the USA in both my cases. Lorex has been sold by Flir, likely to a Chinese company and the documentation you can ONLY READ ONLINE does not match the menu on the NVR. Lorex NEVER answers your email, and I have sent plenty of them, they are in a state of disarray at the moment promising to get better soon... If you are technically savvy then this system promises to be a very good purchase otherwise STAY AWAY FROM LOREX UNTIL THEY GET ESTABLISHED WITH THEIR NEW OWNER.

This is by far the best home security system that you can buy.... pictures quality is excellent, sound excellent, how to set up was very easy. Once you figure out how to program to your liking, it’s an amazing system...

The camera's met all my expectations. The install crew at the Best Buy Geeks (Kevin young, Kelly Rattaire and Casey Edwards) were the best. They did a great job and very professional. I would recommend them to anyone that needs tech install.

4k is really sharp. The interface is easy to navigate. I can view footage from anywhere. Power over Ethernet is a plus.

Purchased system after having vandalism on my truck. Since install passers by are aware of the cameras and I've had no more problems. Great added since of security. Am about to purchase 2 more cameras!
