About this product
The four-time Grammy award-winning (Swedish Grammy) group Tonbruket will their sixth studio album Light Wood, Dark Strings. For a band as diverse as Tonbruket, whose diligent exploration of the outback of jazz and constant expansion of the boundaries of the genre, it is hardly surprising that the band has once again set it's sights on new ways of expression. The joy of discovery also manifests itself on the upcoming album, which is a step in a new direction for the band. Unlike the previous five albums (all on ACT), which have contained loads of synths and effects pedals, Light Wood, Dark Strings is almost completely organic. Now they have let the natural sounds influence the album, and created their most low-key and soft record so far.Members;bass;Dan Berglund (E.S.T., Rymden)keys/violin;Martin Hederos (The Soundtyrack of Our Lives, Hederosgruppen)guitar/edal steel Johan Lindström (Rebecka Törnqvist, Elvis Costello)drums;Andreas Werliin (Fire!, Wildbirds & Peacedrums)

Led by visual artist/vocalist Gregory Jacobsen and bassist Alex Perkolup, Lovely Little Girls is a nine-piece band art-prog band that features the cream of the crop of Chicago's avant-rock scene. InchGlistening Vivid SplashInch, the band's second full length on SKiN GRAFT Records propels the ensemble's darkly humorous vision of absurd sexuality, abject failure, and unceremonious death to new heights by utilizing more space, and employing a strange sense of harmony that will strike a chord with fans of Magma, Cardiacs, and The Residents. Produced by Greg Norman and mastered by Todd Rittman (Dead Rider, U.S. Maple), the music of Lovely Little Girls is permeated by an ominous urgency - ripening and decaying before the ears.

These are NOT your typical Valley Girls! Fronted by sisters Caron and Michele Maso, the Little Girls rocked 80's L.A. with alternative radio hits InchEarthquake SongInch and InchHow To Pick Up GirlsInch. Armed with attitude, smarts and irresistible pop hooks; the band delivered just one killer mini-album (InchThank HeavenInch) in it's initial lifespan - reissued here alongside the best of the band's demos, reunion sessions, collaborations and unreleased recordings. Backing the girls' familial harmonies are players including Kip Brown (LA punk outfit SHOCK) and Blondie's Nigel Harrison & Clem Burke.
