Luca Guglielmi InchBach himself did not see the autograph manuscript as a 'definitive' version. He kept it as an 'open manuscript' on the rack of his harpsichord up to his death, using it as a 'textbook' for the lessons he gave to his students, never ceasing to insert a series of corrections, reworkings, improvements, small variants and even performance instructions. Bach's hands-on approach to his work in progress proves just how modern he actually was and remains. Through a truly 'holistic vision' we can embrace artistic parameters inherited from our 18th-century forebears a profound, venerable legacy that remains unknown to the ones who approach the musical art on 'scientific' methods based on calculation and measurement. Würzburg will surely have a little-known musical highlight next to the famous residence and it's been painted by Tiepolo staircase by Balthasar Neumann. Here worked with Giovanni Benedetto Platti (ca. 1697-1763) since 1723 an important pioneer of the fortepiano in Germany. Still in Italy, he had the inventor of this new instrument, Bartolomeo Cristofori met, and also the Würzburg prince bishops apparently showed a keen interest in it. Thus platti one of the first composers in Germany, who have also written especially for this instrument. His late sonatas harpsichord already have classic style elements, which he is also one of the pioneers of the classical style in Germany.
