Lucifer was founded in 2014 in Berlin by The Oath front woman Johanna Sadonis with the group first consisting of Cathedral, Angel Witch and Ladytron members. Debut album Lucifer I, penned by Johanna and Cathedra's Garry Jennings and released by British tag Rise Above Records, brought Lucifer international recognition. With a shift of constellation within the band in 2016 and Sadonis' move from Berlin to Stockholm, Lucifer were ready for chapter two. In Nicke Andersson, notable for his groups The Hellacopters, Entombed, Imperial State Electric, Death Breath among others, Johanna found a new renowned writing partner. Johanna and Nicke wrote and produced the albums Lucifer II and Lucifer III at Nicke's studio The Honk Palace in Stockholm. The golden duo of Aaron Coyes and Indra Dunis continue to crystallize their mesmerizing sound and find new dimensions within. Lucifer also comes at a time of great transition for this married couple and it reflects the possibilities that they have found during this new life era, especially with the birth of their son, Mikko a guiding light muse for the album. Recorded in Brooklyn at Gary's Electric studio over the course of a month, Peaking Lights consider Lucifer a nocturnal version of their sound. It's slinkier and full of grooves. Lucifer is also Peaking Lights most ambitious to date in terms of it's approach and scope. Through their studio experiments, the duo has managed to link their musical loves dub, krautrock, analog electronic dance music, sound collages, pop music all while maintaining cohesive songs.
