Luigi Lupo - Il Salotto Musicale Di Annette Von Menz - COMPACT DISCS [CD]

LUIGI MANFRIN Loo(p)cy / This album is a retrospective view of Luigi Manfrin's compositional journey, not by a chronological order, but identifying loops within his oeuvre. This album is intended to be a retrospective view of Luigi Manfrin's compositional journey. Rather than following a chronological order, it identifies loops that run through his musical production recurrences, foldings and returns that never replicate the same pattern, but instead reactivate structural tensions in different contexts. At the core is the idea of sound as an immanent experience.

Luigi Lupo - Six Quartets for Flute Violin & Viola & Cello [COMPACT DISCS] date 06/12/2007

Italian instrumental music was at it's zenith when the works of these ten composers were written and each of those selected was a significant figure in the expansion of music for the harpsichord. Frescobaldi, represented by two athletic Toccatas, was influential across Germany while Merula's beautiful Capriccio and Zipoli's gracefully austere Sonata in C major reveal the breadth and variety to be found in Italian keyboard music of the period. The Venetian-born Pescetti draws the music from the Baroque onward to the new galant style.
