About this product
Introducing the latest recording with Luisa Imorde and the Bremer Philharmoniker, featuring two great romantic Piano Concertos from Clara Schumann and Carl Maria von Weber. Following the success of her previous albums dedicated to Beethoven/Wölfl, Bach/Kapustin, and Couperin/Messiaen, the pianist now presents her latest recording that explores the romantic repertoire with orchestra. This album features two Piano Concertos that beautifully capture the essence of the romantic era, complemented by solo piano pieces by Robert and Clara Schumann and C.M. von Weber. Weber's departure from the classical to the romantic era and Schumann's legacy as a female composer bear witness to the mastery of both in Luisa Imorde's outstanding interpretation.

Pianist Luisa Imorde has a pattern in her releases she frequently juxtaposes the repertoire of two composers. On her well received last album she presented works by Bach and Kapustin. Her newest InchPolychromieInch contrasts the preludes by Couperin with pieces from Messiaen, pointing out the variety of colors within the music of these two different epochs. InchLuisa Imorde couples a mature playing technique with an unbridled passion for the piece she is playing and the instrument she is playing it on, resulting in an auditory experience that kindles the spirit and sets the heart aflameInch - said the Süddeutsche Zeitung of the young German pianist's art.

Pianist Luisa Imorde loves innovative combinations- following on from circus dances by Schumann and Widmann and the affair of honor between Woelfl and Beethoven, she now prepares to cast light on Johann Sebastian Bach and Nikolai Kapustin. This is an album whose spectrum ranges from Baroque counterpoint through to polyrhythmic jazz sounds. They could hardly be further apart Bach and Kapustin lived 250 years apart and on two different continents. One is the indisputable supremo of European classical music, the other a Russian composer known only to a few aficionados in central Europe, someone who transforms musical jazz sequences into formal, classical structures. On Moon Rainbow they alternate. InchThere is no established listening convention for this. The result is a foundation of literally unheard sounds, which makes it possible to hear anew so to speak a familiar old piece by Bach in this new context,Inch explains Imorde.
