Two years after the critical success of her breakout second album, Indestructible Machine, Lydia Loveless emerges from the trenches of hometown Columbus, OH with the gloves off and brimming with confidence. While her previous album was described as Hillbilly Punk with a Honky Tonk heart (Uncut), this one can't be so quickly shoe-horned into neat categorical cubbyholes. No, things are different this time around Loveless and her band have collectively dismissed the genre blinders and sonic boundaries that come from playing it from a safe, familiar place. Writing from this new-found place of conviction, Lydia crafted 10 songs that are stark in their honesty, self-examination, and openness.

2014 Maria Callas re-mastered series reissue. With this Abbey Road 24-bit 96kHz re-master, engineers returned to the original master tapes, bringing new clarity & brilliance to her legendary studio recordings. As she demonstrated in both Il barbiere di Siviglia and Il turco in Italia, Callas, the great tragedienne, could also turn her skills to comedy. As it happened, the 1956 La Scala production of Rossini's most popular opera did not prove a great success with audiences, but it's stars - Callas, Tito Gobbi and Luigi Alva - reassembled in London the following year for this recording. Callas sang the role of Rosina at it's original mezzo-soprano pitch and her version of 'Una voce poco fa' - punctuated by an unforgettable 'ma' ('but') in the cabaletta - is a miracle of both elegance and wit.

Lydia Persaud is a Toronto born & raised soul artist. An alumna of the Humber jazz program, member of the O'Pears & Dwayne Gretzky, and back up vocalist for Lee Fields & the Expressions and Royal Wood, she is an accomplished vocalist and skilled songwriter. Lydia draws on her jazz chops, the sincere songwriting of Carol King, and the warm soul and social commentary of Stevie Wonder to craft her timeless and instantly infectious sound. Her debut full length album, Let Me Show You, will be among the first releases on Next Door Records, the new tag imprint from Outside Music, launching January 2019. The is a high marketing priority for the fresh brand. Lydia has been gaining accolades in the Toronto music community. The 2013 Oscar Peterson Award winner, she has been praised for her intimate songwriting and stunning vocal, while 'Low Light,' the single from her debut EP, reached top 10 on CBC Music. After being selected by Jim Cuddy for his NXNE showcase this spring, Lydia has been charming audiences around Ontario with her stunning voice and solid grooves on tour, including a support tour of Serena Ryder. 2019 will bring extensive festival appearances and album support touring for Lydia.
