Magnetic Fields - Holiday - COMPACT DISCS [CD]

1994 , the fourth album from this Indie/Electropop outfit led by singer/songwriter Stephin Merritt. It's title, lyrics and musical styling are a nod to Country music, though the songs of Stephin Merritt remain rooted in classic pop and synthesizers. Virtually every song deals with roads and travel - and several songs' lyrics implicitly reference vampires.

The Magnetic Fields return to the signature mix of synth and acoustic sounds they established in the 90s with Merge releases such as THE CHARM OF THE HIGHWAY STRIP and GET LOST.

The result of Stephin Meritt's prolific songwriting. 69 love songs offered as threee volumes or a Limited Edition 3-CD Box Set. After making records for his other bands the past few years (The 6th, Future Bible Heroes, and the Gothic Arches), Merrit gathered friends and bandmates to complete some of his most ambitious and diverse compositions to date.
