Jerry Lee Lewis - The Ballads Of Jerry Lee Lewis - COMPACT DISCS [CD]

With 'Ballads' Bear Family presents the soulful and sentimental side of 'The Killer.'27 beautiful Rock 'n' Roll and Country ballads recorded between 1956 and 1963 for Sun Records.Songs by Charlie Rich, Hank Williams and others as well as selected favorites from the Tin Pan Alley catalog.Elegant digipak with extensive booklet and detailed liner notes by Chicago music expert Bill Dahl.No certified 1950s legend rocked harder than Jerry Lee Lewis. His immortal Sun Records hits stand among the cornerstones of rock 'n' roll, and Bear Family has spotlighted those classics on plenty of seminal LP and CD packages over the years. But the Killer loved country and rock 'n' roll ballads too-tears-in-your-beer weepers that he delivered with the same swaggering panache that he brought to his pulverizing rockers. He revived his career in 1968 by re-embracing that side of his persona, but even during his Sun glory years, Lewis prolifically delivered quality ballads-as this new collection, spanning 1956-1963, generously underscores. Jerry Lee rolls through gems by Hank Williams (one of his primary heroes), in-house bard Charlie Rich, a couple of Tin Pan Alley chestnuts and a taste of the blues, and anything else that might have struck his free-wheeling fancy during his unbeatable Sun tenure. Album Tracks 1. Crazy Arms 2. Invitation to Your Party 3. Born to Lose 4. I Could Never Be Ashamed of You 5. Tomorrow Night 6. I'm the Guilty One 7. Fools Like Me 8. Will the Circle Be Unbroken 9. Sail Away (With Charlie Rich) 10. Set My Mind at Ease (Stereo) 11. I'll Make It All Up to You 12. It Hurts Me So 13. Love Letters in the Sand 14. How's My Ex Treating You 15. You Win Again 16. I Know What It Means 17. Turn Around 18. The Balad of Billy Joe 19. It All Depends 20. Love on Broadway 21. Seasons of My Heart (With Linda Gail Lewis) 22. Someday 23

David Bowie - Low (2017 Remastered Version) - VINYL LP
4.9(8)

Vinyl LP pressing. Digitally remastered edition. Low is the eleventh studio album by English musician David Bowie, released on RCA Records in January 1977. Recorded following Bowie's move to West Berlin after a period of drug addiction and personal instability, Low became the first of three collaborations with musician Brian Eno and producer Tony Visconti, later termed the Berlin Trilogy. The album was in fact recorded largely in France, and marked a shift in Bowie's musical style toward an electronic and avant-garde approach that would be further explored on subsequent albums Heroes (1977) and Lodger (1979). Though it was initially met with mixed critical reviews, Low has since become widely acclaimed as one of Bowie's best and most influential works. Album Tracks 1. Speed of Life (2017 Remastered Version) 2. Breaking Glass (2017 Remastered Version) 3. What in the World (2017 Remastered Version) 4. Sound and Vision (2017 Remastered Version) 5. Always Crashing in the Same Car (2017 Remastered Version) 6. Be My Wife (2017 Remastered Version) 7. A New Career in a New Town (2017 Remastered Version) 1. Warszawa (2017 Remastered Version) 2. Art Decade (2017 Remastered Version) 3. Weeping Wall (2017 Remastered Version) 4. Subterraneans (2017 Remastered Version)
