Alberto Williams was the most influential Argentinean classical musician of the 20th century. As a pianist and conductor he brought distinction to the concert stage, while his compositions include nine symphonies among a considerable orchestral output. Yet it was in the field of education that he made his most significant contribution to music in South America, opening a Conservatoire in Buenos Aires on European lines. In his music he successfully merged a European musical training with an attractive and distinctive South American idiom. He was gifted in writing the most pleasing melodies, his piano works often coming close to the salon style of the late 19th century.

Following the successful album InchNicht Wiedersehen!Inch, the internationally acclaimed bassist Gunther Groissbock and one of the most distinguished pianists in his field, Malcolm Martineau, are now dedicating their new program to the subject of love; under the title InchMannerliebe und LebenInch (A Man's Love and Life), they explore love from a man's point of view - based on Schumann's well-known cycle InchFrauenliebe und -lebenInch (A Woman's Love and Life). Beginning with what is probably the first known song cycle in music history, InchAn die ferne GeliebteInch by Ludwig van Beethoven, the well-rehearsed duo then present Schumann's InchDichterliebeInch. Three songs by Anton Bruckner (InchI'm AprilInch, InchHerbstkummerInch and InchMein Herz und deine StimmeInch) are preceded by further selected songs by Johannes Brahms, including InchWie bist du, meine KoniginInch, InchUnbewegte laue LuftInch, InchDie MainachtInch and InchNicht mehr zu dir zu gehenInch.
