Mammoth Penguins - Here - COMPACT DISCS [CD]

Mammoth Penguins' John Doe tells the story of the people who were close to a man who has faked his own death, only to return years later. That's right - it's a concept album. After playing shows across the U.K. and Germany, and a live session for Marc Riley's BBC 6 Music radio show, the band hatched a plan to work with other musicians on a side project. The result is an eclectic mix of indie-pop and folk electronica, with a bit of post-rock thrown in for good measure, with catchy choruses, evocative soundscapes and heart-wrenching harmonies.

Coastline Paradox is a young German, Austrian and Italian quintet. The ensemble was founded by Richard Köster in 2017. It's music is inspired and driven by the coastline paradox phenomenon that describes the counterintuitive observation that the coastline of a landmass does not have a well-defined length. The length depends in fact on the scale and method used to measure it. Because of it's fractal-like properties the length of every coastline is practically infinite. Along every coastline distance and diversity blend into something unique that can only be found right there. The closer you look at it, the more details you are going to find. The music of coastline paradox is at home in the border zone and dedicates itself to attention to detail. Excitement is where sea hits the shore, where the continent opens up into vastness. A place with sun and sand or storm and spray. A place to marvel. A place to listen carefully.

For fans of Elvis' music and the friends of P.J. Proby an equally exciting and welcome album! Bear Family Records® are delighted to announce the 'P.J. Proby - Presley Style'. This collection of 21 tracks features demonstration recordings for Elvis pitched to him by songwriters, all sung by P.J. Proby. The Elvis management insisted that all songs presented to him, had to be recorded on acetate and submitted for his consideration via his Hill & Range publishers. Competition amongst the songwriters was intense as they created fully produced recordings hoping to catch the ear of Elvis. Many used vocalists who sounded like Elvis, in the hope of giving them the edge, and the voice of P.J. Proby totally fitted the bill. Many of these songs were pitched for specific scenes in Elvis movies and were written accordingly after the songwriters studied the Hollywood script.
