Marcos Baggiani - Carnet Imaginaire - COMPACT DISCS [CD]

2017 , the seventh album from the alt-rock band. The album's first single, 'The System Only Dreams in Total Darkness', blends elements of The National's signature indie rock anthems with a shot of disco funk. A shuffling drum beat and a grimy guitar loop mix with a slow-burning blend of piano, synths and horns that rise at the end with Matt Berninger's rousing plea, InchI can't explain it/ Any other, any other way.Inch The band recorded the album primarily at guitarist Aaron Dessner's studio, Long Pond, in Hudson Valley, New York, while additional sessions took place in Berlin, Paris and Los Angeles. Dessner produced the record with his brother, guitarist Bryce Dessner, and Berninger.

There are many talented musicians in the world, but only very few that special something. Marco Marconi is one of these few - from the moment the Italian's hands touch the keys, he moves into his own stream of jazz consciousness, taking the listener with him into the special world. A rising star in the jazz world, classically trained Marco was invited to make a solo recording in the Fazioli Concert Hall near Venice. Fast becoming the top Piano maker in the world, 'Fazioli Pianoforte' constructed a special building complete with the latest acoustic features with it's own Fazioli Grand piano - an F278 - a perfect for concerts and recordings. ; These ten tracks album reveal a master at work - a veritable 'tour de force'. from the Latin groove and swing of 'Caravan', Marco Marconi's haunting original 'Philanthropy', to the gentle softness of 'What a Wonderful World' to the blistering rendition of the classic 'Take Five- it's all there. A brilliant listening experience.

Though a well-established member of New York's jazz scene for the past 12 years, bassist and composer Marcos Varela looks back to his birthplace of San Ygnacio, Texas and his trek still in progress as inspiration for his debut recording. Pulling together mentors and brothers in music - including master drummer Billy Hart, pianist George Cables, saxophonist Dayna Stephens and trombonist Clifton Anderson - they supply a warm depth of spirit to this collection of compositions, some from the playlists from his tours with the bands of Billy Hart, Winard Harper, and Clifton Anderson, along with Varela's own originals. From his family's move to present day Southern Texas from old-world Spain, his youth in Houston with it's deep blues and church music influences, and his years in NY performing constantly with legendary masters and highly-regarded peers, InchSan YgnacioInch reveals elements of all that while offering an exciting introduction to a dynamic musical voice. •Inch... his tone, choice of notes and compositions will place his playing and name on the list of bassists to be heardInch
