Maria Bachmann - French Fantasy - COMPACT DISCS [CD]

Maria Bania - Sonate a Flauto Traverso / Violone E Cembalo [COMPACT DISCS] date 01/24/2007

Occupying prominent positions in ensembles such as the Gewandhausorchester and the Berlin Philharmonic doesn't necessarily guarantee the sensitivity, understanding and desire to find one's own interpretation that this ensemble shows US on their debut Genuine CD, Phantasy. They've won awards such as ARD, Deustcher Musikwettbewerb and Concourt de Geneve.

A GENUIN debut CD of two young musicians Nina Karmon (violin) and Maria Sofianska (piano). Spans a wide arch from the beginning of the Romantic era to it's end. Schubert's C-major Fantasy is contrasted with Richard Strauss's youthful, furiously heated Violin Sonata. The duo partners allow their instruments to sing, showing masterly ensemble playing.
