Known as La Divina, Maria Callas remains the most famous opera singer of the post-war era, even thirty years after her untimely death at the age of just 53. Our tribute to the great lady begins by focusing on her dramatic soprano roles and here we feature some of the most cherished recordings of the popular arias of Puccini and Verdi. In the bel canto repertoire we feature La Divina in roles by Bellini, Rossini and Donizetti. If you are looking for a way in to appreciating classical opera this Essential Collection offers opera singing at it's finest!
