Markus Reuter - Shapeshifters - COMPACT DISCS [CD]

Supported by an eleven-piece ensemble cast, Markus Reuter embarks on a most ambitious project of sorts. Recorded in front of a live audience in Mannheim, Germany, in 2017, InchSun TranceInch could perhaps best be described as a sort of trance-avantgarde-psychedelic sonic hybrid. His enticing textural work aside, Markus Reuter's guitar work has never sounded bigger or more commanding. His huge, shrieking overdriven tones carry the music to some shimmering (and pleasantly surprising) heights. The guitar passages expose complexities, nuance and harmonic possibilities that reflect not only the perspective of an imaginative, intuitive improviser, but also the insight and acumen of a profound composer. You can get lost in this music, but, rest assured, it will find you. Essential feeding for the more ravenous, yet refined, of progressive and avant-garde packs. Album Tracks 1. Sun Trance

Pure genius exposed and documented. It's jazz; but sort of Inchanti-jazz,Inch too. It's progressive, yet clearly supersedes any preexisting templates or traditional standards. It's avant-garde, while soaring above and beyond typical confines, there, as well. And it's 'free jazz,' but with preconceived structure of sorts. One of the 21st century's most joyously unconventional, innovative musicians and composers, Markus Reuter, under the auspices of MoonJune Records, is pleased to offer the initial Oculus project, InchNothing Is SacredInch an album which hails as one of the most brilliant, spellbinding and 'immediately essential' ensemble works in decades. Joined by a stellar cast - featuring legendary King Crimson alumnus, violinist/keyboardist, David Cross; the extraordinary veteran timekeeper Asaf Sirkis, and fretless bass virtuoso (and renowned producer) Fabio Trentini; with contributions from fellow guitar pioneer, Mark Wingfield, and the iconic West Coast USA ambient pioneer, keyboardist Robert Rich - Markus employs a more premeditated, disciplined, yet radically divergent approach to group performance on this mon- umental session. In the process, new avenues for even more profound levels of musical communication are ventured. Album Tracks 1. Nothing Is Sacred (Dice II) 2. The Occult (Dice I) 3. Bubble Bubble Bubble Bath (Wink) 4. Solve Et Coagula (Ghost I) 5. Bubble Bubble Bubble Song (Sighs)

Spurred by the feelings of thankfulness and appreciation for mentors and the people who surround him, Chicago trumpeter and composer Marcus Rutz compiled a two-volume collection of original music and arrangements filled with intrigue, beauty and excitement. With tributes to his mother, InchThe Compass,Inch bassist Richard Davis, InchThe Musicianer,Inch or pianist Ellis Marsalis, InchSyndrome,Inch Rutz navigates diverse ensemble and stylistic directions with an array of superb musical partners, including saxophonist Brice Winston, NY bassist Marcos Varela & drummer Xavier Breaker, guitarist Matt Gold and pianist Adrian Ruiz, among others. The title, InchBlueprints - Figure 1 Frameworks,Inch provides the metaphor while the music reveals the heart of an artist venerating his influences. Album Tracks 1. The Compass 2. The Musicianer 3.
