Q: Is a subwoofer needed with these speakers?

Subwoofers can not only add to the bass frequencies that the speakers can't hit but, the bass signals can be redirected to the subwoofer, thus enhancing your speakers' efficiency. So adding a subwoofer isn't just about more bass. With a great sub, the system's dynamics rock harder, and soundstage depth and spaciousness improve. So it's not something we would consider a need, but it can dramatically enhance the overall sound of your system. A: Hello. Thank you for your question and we hope all is well. The speakers are 4 Ohms Compatible with 4, 6, or 8 Ohm rated amplifiers. We typically recommend an amplifier power of 20—300 watts per channel. As impedance is a dynamic and constantly changing number, the exact power output from an amplifier at any given moment will vary. Luckily the power handling of the speaker always remains the same regardless of its impedance at the time. So it really depends on the amp being used as the speakers power handling does not vary with impedance, only your amplifier's power output varies with impedance.
