Medieval Steel were orignally formed in Memphis, Tennessee in the spring of 1982. In the beginning they were playing covers in local clubs, before starting to write their own material (which was later compared to bands like Queensryche and Crimson Glory).InchOnce we solidified the line-up, we started playing out,Inch explains vocalist Bobby Franklin today, Inchand the next step was apparent to us that we needed to write and record our own music if we expected to go somewhere in this business.InchIt took the band another two years to record the songs InchMedieval SteelInch, InchWarlodsInch, InchBattle Beyond The StarsInch and InchEchoesInch for their now legendary debut EP. The reason we did not record a full album was financial. The recordings went smooth and quick. He played in a band called Cobra, after that he decided he wanted to be an engineer/producer, and he was excellent at it. I believe 3,000 vinyl copies were pressed, and I think there were 1,000 cassettes. It is a compilation of hit singles released in 1958 and 1959 by Presley, from recording sessions going back as far as February 1957. Elvis' Gold Records, Vol. 2 peaked at #31 on the Billboard Top Pop Albums chart.     Around the Fur the follow-up to Deftones' passionate, aggressive Adrenaline, sees the California quartet expanding on the sheer rage of their earlier work, adding new, more sinister shades to their already extreme sound. The opening InchMy Own Summer (Shove It),Inch serves as an introduction to the album's sonic theme sinewy guitars and eerie whispers alternate with fast, violent crunch. Sepultura's Max Cavallero contributes guitar and vocals to InchHeadup,Inch while InchMXInch finds singer Chino trading off vocal lines with Annalynn Cunningham, (wife of Deftones' drummer Abe) in an acerbic take on the rock star mentality. Vocal acrobat Moreno attacks a variety of styles his breathy, psychotic recitations sound downright industrial, while the album's calmer, more brooding moments show his gift for haunting melody. Behind him, guitarist Stephen Carpenter's heavy wall of sound is astoundingly muscular, yet inspiringly agile. When Deftones' hellish fury hits full tilt, as it always does on this album, Moreno's voice erupts into screams which are best described as otherworldly, transforming this intense musical firestorm into a hurtling juggernaut of aggression.
