I’ve been using the Quest 2 for a couple of years now and was debating whether to drop $500 on the Quest 3 or just wait. When the 3S came out at $249, I finally pulled the trigger. Honestly, I’m glad I saved the money, though there are definitely some tradeoffs. The performance jump is the first thing you notice. The menus are snappier, and games like Batman: Arkham Shadow (which came free with it!) look way better and load faster than anything on my Q2. The mixed reality (color passthrough) is the biggest game changer, though. It isn't "real life" perfect—it’s still a bit grainy, especially if your room isn't super bright—but being able to walk to the fridge or check a text without taking the headset off is huge. The lenses are the main compromise here. If you’re coming from a Quest 2, they look identical (Fresnel), so you still have those subtle "god-rays" and a smaller sweet spot compared to the pancake lenses everyone raves about on the regular Quest 3. I tried my friend's Quest 3 once, and yeah, that edge-to-edge clarity is nicer, but is it worth an extra $200? For me, no. Once you're actually playing a game, you stop noticing the edges anyway. Comfort is... okay. It feels slightly bulkier on the front than I expected, and the stock strap is still pretty terrible. Do yourself a favor and use the money you saved to buy a third-party strap immediately. Bottom line: If you have a Quest 2 and want mixed reality and better graphics without emptying your wallet, this is it. If you have an unlimited budget, get the regular Quest 3, but for $249 this thing is a steal.

I’m extremely impressed with this VR headset. The setup was quick and easy, and the visuals are incredibly clear and immersive. The headset is comfortable to wear, even for longer sessions, and the controllers are very responsive and intuitive. I love that it works wirelessly, which really enhances the experience without feeling restricted. There’s a great variety of apps and games available, and everything runs smoothly. Very immersive technology. A little heavy on the head. Games are expensive but the experience of playing is great. It is wireless and allows movement. Needs to be charged regularly.

First and foremost, WOW! The meta quest 3s is a beast of a VR headset. Plays all the titles, and links with steam easy One issue, the battery is pretty bad, but with a third-party headset strap with battery pack solves that. $20-$60 on amazon for the headset strap with battery pack. Gave the system to my brother as a present he absolutely loved it, he says it’s everything he’s been wanting. Only issue noticed was it does get quite hot when in use even early on, but given it’s literally a gaming system on your face it’s understandable hahahaha. Besides that absolutely perfect even thinking of getting one of my own to play with my brother!!!

This is a cool system. It’s worth every penny. I see the told updates from the 1st generation. It’s had so many games and activities on it. Love that I can just charge everything and not have to use batteries for my handheld device. It’s very nice size for traveling. I wish it came in colors. If you are thinking about getting one, don’t hesitate grab yours today. You won’t regret it. It also has other devices like a body set to go with it. I’m definitely pushing to get that as well. I’m also trying to get a stand for it. They do have those too. One more thing to mention, the controller are so much better to grip and hold. I like they took off the round thing, fr people with bigger hands. The band around the headset is so better. I post a picture of my old one verses my new one

Never in my life had I treated a vr headset more carefully then my own life. This is headset is amazing and does great in all the games I play, I recommend it if you don’t have enough money for the regular quest 3!

Very very fun and easy to set up. Battery life isn’t the best but I bought the upgraded head strap so it last much longer.

My son loves this we also bought the wireless battery pack.. very realistic and he enjoys it

Overall I love the 3s. I upgraded from the original quest, and while some features such as the graphics are a big jump, overall it’s just a nicer version that actually functions. It’s a great headset for those just getting into VR. Even for those like myself who have prior experience with VR, it’s probably the best standalone for the price. I will warn all of those who are brand new to VR, on phones and tvs we have gotten used to extremely high quality 4k images. And the 3s is definitely not that. However I don’t think it’s a large issue, as your eyes get used to it over time. Plus this actually helps with battery life, when comparing this to the 3. For the 3s the battery can definitely last different amounts of time depending on what games you are playing. For example on Beat Saber, it honestly lasts forever. But for other games, especially those that have other players in game, it could die in less than two hours. Tracking for controllers, the headset itself, and hand tracking all work great. The only issue I haven’t found a solution for yet is that I will occasionally hit the action button When I meant to adjust the volume. Overall if you’re trying to decide to purchase the headset I would have to recommend it.

Bought this as a Christmas gift for the kids and we all love it. It’s like putting on glasses to another world and playing games as if you’re actually in the game! No problems so far, we’re still learning how to use it. Overall I would rate this 9/10. The only concern is leaving them on too long you start to feel a little lightheaded. Other than that, great experience!
