Methyl Ethel - Are You Haunted? - COMPACT DISCS [CD]

Methyl Ethel has always been an expression of the subconscious. Born in the heat of the Australian summer, the early recordings were built from the ground up in various bedrooms and friends' studios; the same spaces Jake Webb returned to for Triage, the third album in a triptych he started with Oh Inhuman Spectacle (2015) and continued with Everything Is Forgotten (2017), which was named Best Independent Album by AIR, the Australian Independent Record Labels Association. Triage is like experiencing youth as a fever dream. Drawing from experiences that have been erased with time.

LP includes one 140-gram coke bottle clear vinyl. For Bury Tomorrow, the last two years have been about trying to fill the space where they knew something was missing. From the depths of uncertainty, through line-up changes and COVID-inspired roadblocks, the arrival of guitarist Ed Hartwell and keyboardist/vocalist Tom Prendergast and the creation of 2023's 'The Seventh Sun' has allowed them to lay out a whole new path of possibilities that felt unavailable before. Now, with an invigorated belief and fresh outlook on what the band can encompass, they present 'Will You Haunt Me, With That Same Patience', their most fantastically visceral offering to date. - Crafted more intimately and intricately than ever before by internalising every aspect of the writing process, with Carl Bown [Sleep Token, Bullet For My Valentine, While She Sleeps] manning production duties for the first time, the result is a profoundly personal, extraordinarily expansive and punishingly grand display of cathartic craftsmanship. - Born from a shared sense of frustration in feeling an ever-shifting disconnect from the state of modern society, the band have created an earnest, heart-wrenching and definitive look at the overlapping effects of brutal self-sabotage, crippling anxiety, fierce despondency and the never-ending search for peace and clarity in a world so full of noise. It is a record about division as much as togetherness, an outpouring of personal devastation but a hopeful reminder that we are all navigating it together. Atmospherically stirring new single, 'What If I Burn', centres on the tricks that our mind plays on our perception of existence, interactions and connections.

2018 . Prequelle follows Ghost's third studio album, Meliora, and it's accompanying EP Popestar, which elevated the Swedish rock band into the pantheon of the greatest rock bands on earth and resulted in a Grammy Award for Best Metal Performance. Prequelle delves into the plague, the apocalypse, and dark ages. Ghost was formed in Linköping, Sweden in 2006. The band is easily recognizable owing greatly to it's eccentric on-stage presence. Five of the group's six members, it's 'Nameless Ghouls,' wear virtually identical, face-concealing costumes. The most distinguishable member is it's vocalist, called Papa Emeritus, who wears a prosthetic mask of skull face paint and appears as what can be described as a Inchdemonic anti-Pope.Inch
