Prior to starting make sure you know what you are doing. If you do not know how to do construction or handy stuff don't try it yourself. I have done construction and remodels so this was easy for me. First and foremost you need to find the stud locations and one of the most important is the fire blocking. If you don't know what fire blocking is then you might have a problem when installing this. Anyway after finding all the stud locations and routing where you want to put the 2 plugs you can use the hole saw and cut open the 2 holes. Then use the snake line that it comes with the pull the wire through. Make sure you fit everything together prior to and mark it and get everything all setup. Then you place the plates and set them and then you lock the covers on and you are done.... The other pass through holes are a bit small. Max you can pass is maybe 1 HDMI cable and a coax and 1 cat5/cat5 cable.. The other thing is after you plug in the extension cord there is a tab that slightly blocks the pass through opening. Other than that this is a clean installation for being able to eliminate cords and power cords for a wall mounted flat screen. I would recommend this product based on my experience.

I’m glad Best Buy has headed into the home aesthetics category of tech. For years I’ve walked the aisles and they have the wall plates for hiding wires but I rarely found a cool kit like this. First make sure to have a stud finder if you can and don’t give into the urge to use a power drill to attach to the hole saw. Use the hand tool it gives you more control and it won’t feel as jarring. The two power plates are very easy to install just make sure to measure and align your plates so it doesn’t look weird. I will be honest and say once you’re a few centimeters off it is hard to reverse (it was bothering me so I had to get a kit to patch and adjust the alignment). Easy mistake and a tough fix so be cautious. Once you’ve made your holes you’ll run the actual power cords through the wall, snap them into place with the provided helmets that were provided. A side note is that there’s no tube to run the cord through like other kits in my house which can be troublesome if you have anything obstructing your cord in the wall like insulation. It’s that simple, you then snap your face plates onto the screwed in wall plates and “ta-dah”! You will then plug in your power cord to the wall outlet and run it to the nearest power source. This was exactly what I needed for my guest room which is small, I wanted it to look minimal and simple without fuss. The hand saw is going to make a mess with your drywall so have a vacuum on hand for the chalky powder. A great project that takes about an hour to get complete and mounting your tv.

I hated seeing the TV and Coax cable hanging down my living room wall. I decided to try the Halios AVRL-KIT1 In-Wall Power Outlet Relocation Kit. It is easy to install and prevents unsightly TV electrical Cord. Our outlet was about 10 inches from the floor and 5 foot down and two feet over from the TV. Our TV is installed on the wall. We needed to cut two holes 3 inches in diameter using the included hole saw and a household drill. It does come with a T-Handle if you didn’t want to use a drill. This is fairly easy to do but makes a mess in the floor from the dry wall. That is the only mess this kit makes. I have asthma so I wore a mask to keep from breathing in the dry wall dust. We relocated the outlet over about 2 ft and then hid the rest inside the wall up to the TV while installing new outlet behind the TV. Perfectly invisible. The kit comes with all the cords that we needed. I was impressed with the sturdy heavy weight cords. They are top quality. The cord that goes is the wall is 9 ft and grounded. It was perfect length for our project. All in all it worked perfectly to keep the cords invisible up the wall. There is still the problem of seeing the cord from the existing outlet to the newly installed outlet but furniture easily hides that. I would not hesitate to use this again to hide my cords.

Metra has designed the Helios In-Wall Power Outlet Relocation Kit to be as easy, complete, and convenient as possible. For the retail price, I don’t think you could purchase all the parts, cords, installation tools and housing pieces that are included. Everything needed except for a screwdriver, measuring tape, pencil, tape, and a level is included in the kit. It even comes with a hole saw and fish tape. It also comes with a 9’ in wall power cable, a 6’ power cable and two in-wall electrical housing units. Installation is quick and simple. Centering the future placement of the electrical in-wall housing units is the initial step. Since the in-wall cord is only 9’ long, this sets the maximum distance between the housing unit on the wall that will be concealed behind the TV, and the location of the electrical housing unit directly below where the power cord will be snaked back out of the wall to reach the power outlet. With the drill hole saw that is included, and after measuring the location of the placement of these two electrical housing units, and marking the exact placement, two holes can be drilled where the two electrical housing units will be installed. The housing units are well thought out and house the ends of the electrical cords securely to give a neat, safe, and finished project. The electrical plug crowns will be held in place once fitted into the housing with the small phillips screws provided, two to each plug. At this point, if cable TV is used, that cord can be snaked with the fishing wire through the same openings. The electrical housing units fit flush to the wall and can be secured by tightening the dog ears secured to the unit with phillips head screws. The final installation is to hang your TV monitor on the wall and use the 6’ power cable to go from the outlet you have just installed nearest to the floor to the wall outlet in your room.
