An aging comedian tours the California desert, lost in a cycle of third-rate venues, novelty tourist attractions, and vain attempts to reach his estranged daughter. By day, he slogs through the barren landscape, inadvertently alienating every acquaintance. At night, he seeks solace in the animation of his onstage persona. Fueled by the promise of a lucrative Hollywood engagement and the possibility of rekindling a relationship with his daughter, he trudges through a series of increasingly surreal and volatile encounters.

Goodbye Ana Elisa (A.K. a InchI Love you Ana ElisaInch) tells the story of Ana Elisa, a young woman living in a rural Columbian town who's courage to confront her past and the limitations of her underprivileged community pose more a challenge than a threat. She works hard and hopes of becoming a doctor to help heal and save lives. In the meantime, she uses her knowledge in an underground medical clinic where she helps those less fortunate with basic medical care. Her dream is not an easy one and she must deal with a number of obstacles, including her ex-boyfriend Calvo who wants her back at all cost bringing about violence and sorrow in his attempt to regain her love. Displaced from her neighborhood, Ana Elisa finds herself fleeing to seek help from two uncles who she hasn't seen in years and forced to care for her schizophrenic older brother Faber. Ana Elisa's arrival at the city depicts an even harder and hostile reality which turns into a race for survival and an uphill battle to keep her brother safe while maintaining her dignity as a human being.
