About this product
Can lively rural violin melodies be played on a 'fat' contrabass clarinet? Sure, they can. You only have to be Michal Górczynski, who has performed on four continents playing Warsaw-Autumnal avant-garde (Kwartludium), experimental improvisations, but also Polish early music (Bastarda) and Jewish (Ircha), Gambian (duo with Buba Kuyateh) or Indonesian themes (the Bidadari project). He has been interested in Polish folk music for a long time. After all, as a composer he has written, among others, Rondo a la krakowiak for screaming pianist and bass clarinet (sic!). He also experimented with 'triple' rhythms in the Slavic-African Polonka. But it was only last year that he dared to take on the challenge of playing authentic folk melodies - with great success - as part of the Radical Polish Songbook project. Over time, free improvisations turned into well-thought-out multi-layered forms, and the magic of the recording studio allowed Michal to turn the bass clarinet into a folk band and even a wind orchestra. Album Tracks 1. Lubelskie 504 2. Radomskie 292 3. Lubelskie 89 4. Rzeszowskie 191 5. Lubelskie 133 6. Lubelskie Oczepinowe 7. Radomskie 265 8. Rzeszowskie 137 9. Radomskie 213 10. Rzeszowskie 172 11. Dave Davies is indeed a true rock 'n' roll original. Originally released in 2007 InchFractured MindzInch was Dave's first after his stroke several years earlier. Take a musical journey with The Kinks' guitarist Dave Davies with stops for fame and fortune, sibling rivalry and stroke recovery. Since he was the legendary wildman of the Kinks - the man responsible for their proto-heavy metal guitars, the battling brother of Ray - it's been easy to pigeonhole Dave Davies as just a hard rocker but anybody who paid close attention to his solo work would know that he has a spiritual, even mystical, dimension to his music which shines through clearly on this classic Dave Davies album. First time on vinyl! 2XLP with etching on 4th side Album Tracks 1. This Is the Time 2. Free Me 3. All About Me 4. Come to the River 5. Giving 6. Remember Who You Are 7. The Waiting Hours 8. Rock Siva 9. The Blessing 10. Fractured Mindz 11. God in My Brain
