This is one robust machine, unlike many reviews that talked about the tablet size being a bit too big I think this one is the smallest I would go for the purpose I use it. I am designer and fine artist and having a robust tool where I can directly sketch on to the screen while not confined to an office is a great advantage. It is powerful enough that I can run high-end 3D applications and do my digital paintings on the go. The only reason why I didn't give it 5 stars is that if I detach the screen so that I can lay it flat on a surface to really dive into digital painting, the keyboard is non functional. Although there is a workaround by getting a blue tooth keyboard, doing so kind of defeats the purspose of the advertised versatility of the product. Maybe in future generations one can use the keyboard and screen in the de-attached mode and then this will definitely be the best product ever, especially if Microsoft makes a 15". I have spoken to many fellow artists and we agree this product is insanely good but the part of the functional keyboard when the screen is de-attached is a con against it, many high end painting and sketching programs are more efficient to use when one has a keyboard for tool shortcuts, etc. In the mean time there is nothing else that comes close it, it is powerful, lightweight and versatile.

I love the versatility of this computer, great machine, and super fast. Also, very light to travel with which is a big plus for Sales Executives.

The laptop construction is comparable to that of Apple Mac Book Pro. I love the metal construction. The Surface Book is super fast, it boots up on a dime. The keyboard white letters are problematic, hard to see under certain conditions and the letters should be black. The keyboard is too light for when you tilt the screen past a certain point the cg changes and the laptop tips back. These are minor engineering design problems. The batteries do not give you the operational hours advertised; a couple of hours overrated. Even though the screen resolution is a whopping 2000x3000, I don't think the picture is as clear and bright as the Retina Screen on the Mac Book Pro. All in all the computer is great but very, very pricey.

This is a solid performing notebook, and I even enjoy using it as a tablet. It's made an ideal replacement for both my MacBook Pro and iPad. The machine runs fast even under an intense workload. I mainly purchased this for school work, but the machine has enough power to run higher-end graphics performance as well. The design is excellent with it, and even though I was a Mac user for ten years, adjusting to Windows hasn't been hard, and I'm actually enjoying it over OS X. Microsoft's Support has been excellent as well when I had a few minor issues with Windows I needed resolving. Three issues I've had with the system: 1. There isn't a way to add Microsoft's extended warranty to it if you purchase it from Best Buy (unless you live near a Microsoft Store), so customers purchasing from Best Buy will probably want Best Buy's warranty. 2. The machine did arrive with minor cosmetic defects from the manufacturer on the bottom shell. I'll probably have Microsoft replace that since it's annoying for the price I spent on it. Best Buy did an EXCELLENT job packing it though. 3. Some apps show really tiny fonts. Developers who haven't updated for High DPI displays need to adjust their apps for it. Other than that, the Surface Book is a solid device that should provide me years of performance and reliability.

great graphics, easy to use, fast, although a little heavy due to the extra battery

I've been going back and forth between a iMAC 27" and this Surface Book for months.. I've been looking at pricing and performance and both always came out a tie for me. What broke the tie? Jaycee.. a great employee at the store. She was so knowledgeable and helpful it made my decision simple in the end. She made me see that this laptop was going to do everything for me and it was also had one big advantage over the iMac 27". I could take it with me anywhere. and if I needed a big screen I could always connect it to an external 27" 4k monitor. I've been playing with it for the last couple of days and it is fast, easy to use and so far does everything i need it to do. I still have to stress test it with my post processing and slide shows but I'm confident it will do well since it hasn't let me down yet.

Retinal scan is cumbersome when using in a multi person setting (family) or business presentations. But that may be a function of needing to learn how better to use it. The retinal scan impedes the speed of booting up, which is one of the primary benefits of an SSD based machine. Basically, you want instant on when using a computer designed around note taking, recording lectures, doing medical rounds, etc. But the functions of notes, cut/pasted/link/draw/record meetings or lectures are incredible, and I haven't see anything like this in any other machine.

Very nice laptop that also serves as a tablet. works great with a docking station, has great NVidia graphics, touchscreen, and keyboard that lights up. The primary downfall is the weight. It is heavy due to the second battery in the tablet, but it gives your great battery life with 2 batteries.

I really like the windows 10 interface e, and this machine is great with it! It's really fast, boots in no time, and can handle all the photoshop and illustrator I can throw at it. I haven't had a chance to run any video editing on it yet, but so far it handles all my raw photos and all my video files with ease. The screen and keyboard feel solid, more like a laptop. Great, albeit expensive, laptop replacement.

Battery life nowhere near like it states it should be. Few of the programs are sticky - camera doesn't work sometimes, Outlook text shows up funny sometimes

Very durable. The only thing that could be change is the hing holding the key bord to the screen does get a little loose over time.
