I enjoy being able to stream game play and have the voice command option with my Xbox One .. So if you didn't get one with your Xbox One would recommend getting one with it!

Many games on the Xbox One are sadly still one-player or don't have a lot of co-op play - they're mostly online multiplayer. But, when the Kinect comes into play, it does open up for a bunch of fun games and activities that multiple people can play in the home, such as Just Dance 2016 and Kinect Sports Rivals. Even Fighter Within makes for a neat way to play a fighting game with a friend or family member shadow-boxing next to you. The camera and sensors are so much better than the 360's Kinect and being able to control things your voice just adds to the simplicity of using the Xbox One. But if there's a killer app for the Kinect, it's Skype. Try one and talk to someone over Skype and you'll see why.

Aside from the hours of endless fun at family reunions, I would recommend the Kinect to all Xbox One owners. My Xbox One functions more as a media center than a game console and I use the Kinect daily. Maybe it's just my laziness, but there are times where I need to get up from my binge watching and 9/10 times I can't seem to find my controller. Being able to tell my Xbox to pause has been more useful than I would've imagined!

I just submitted a review on XBox one....but to complete the experience, we also obtained Kinect. Setup was effortless. Games are currently limited with Kinect, but the ones we have tried like Sports Rivals and Fruit Ninja 2 have been very enjoyable. Had friends over and was a big hit. Speaking of hits...be careful. With games requiring movements, such a tennis and mountain climbing, clear obstacles out of your way and remember the ceiling fan! Great fun and exercise to boot. May not have to go to the gym afterall. The camera seem to work great and keep track of your every move. Once I had Skype up and running, I tested by Skyping my wife down stairs. Worked great. Now looking forward to Skyping with the kids and grandkids. Much better on a big screen. And Kinect will zoom in and out, depending on who is doing the talking.

I purchased my system a few weeks before I purchased the kinect. I thoroughly enjoyed just having the system by itself, but I did some research on the kinect, and realized that I was missing out on a different perspective. I saw the unit was on sale, and purchased. Since then my system has come to life! The convenience it brings opens up another level of gaming, and the voice recognition is worlds above the 360 unit. It helps with ease of switching entertainment platforms, is useful during game play, and scanning codes for downloads is top notch. I would refer anyone who does not have it to get one. I would recommend a privacy case for all of the folks like me that are aware of how the kinect can be used by big brother. Just to ease your anxiety.

I owned a Kinect for the Xbox 360 and loved the games and interactivity it brought to the console. I was a little annoyed that the Kinect did not come bundled with the already pricey Xbox One, but am glad that I purchased the new one! The ability to control the Xbox One and the rest of my entertainment system with voice commands or the single Xbox One controller is very convenient and feels very 'high tech' - Although the old Kinect games are not compatible with the current Xbox One Kinect, I hope they make backwards compatibility a thing. That would be the only downside to the new one. Otherwise it is a great product that brings a whole new level to the Xbox One

Have used this for one game so far, Dance Central Spotlight. The game itself was a little buggy, but the Kinect was accurate and fun to use. Most of the use I get out of it is to control the television with voice. Sad to find out that the current Xbox build no longer supports gestures, so don't know how the "Minority Report" features of browsing menus worked.

I like the Kinect and I think it was worthwhile to add on to my Xbox One. I bought it mainly for the voice commands and to run my TV through it since my TV only has 2 HDMI slots. The best feature for me is that the Kinect recognizes me when I turn on the system. This means my kids can't log in as me and make purchases without my consent and I don't have to type in my password every time I want to make a purchase. Another nice feature is the ability to scan a bar code instead of typing a code when you get a card for downloadable content. The voice commands are pretty cool sometimes, but annoying at others. "Xbox on" and "Xbox volume up" are usually recognized, but sometimes I have to repeat commands and the in-game commands I have tried so far have not been great. In NBA 2k15, I can't get most commands to work and every time my dogs bark, the game thinks I'm calling a time out. I have not tried any games yet, although it comes with a dance game and I downloaded Xbox Fitness. Overall, I would recommend it. I think it makes the whole Xbox experience a little better and while I would like to see the price come down a little, I think I will get my money's worth out of it.

The Kinect sensor is really unique. The new version is light years ahead of the original. Microsoft really needs to flush out support and API's. For that it can do right now it is pretty amazing. I like the no hassle sign in and voice control features. Make sure you go through the setup so it works correctly.

the kinect sensor adds more options to your xbox one unit use your voice to switch between tv, games, tell it what you want to do the camera works great there is a pivacy cover so if you are not on line gaming you slip it over the camera and no spying eye the unit offers more ways to enjoy your xbox one experience.

I love being able to use the voice command features on my XBOX, especially with jumping between games, tv, and apps. I have occasionally dealt with connection issues where I needed to restart the console and unplug the kinect, but overall it has worked the majority of the time.

I have been waiting for the new Kinect to go down in price or on sale so I picked one of these up on sale. I'm really glad I did. I know there is not alot of support or games for this right now but imo it is worth it for the voice commands alone. I did get the new Kinect sports game and it's a very good game. It's fun solo or for the whole family. My stepson Skypes so this will be fun for him as well. I do have the Xbox S so I did need the adapter and while I agree with others at this point it should by now be included in the box, at the price I got this for I think it's a fair price. Now that being said if you are going to make a new system and not have a direct plug in for the Kinect (Which is what Microsoft did.) they made a ($40 adapter that you have to buy) the were giving a rebate in the beginning but that ended in March I believe. So now 5 months later there is still no adapter packaged in the box of the Kinect which you can not directly wire into the Xbox One S. I love both the Xbox One and the Kinect but this is just poor marketing and planning from such a large company with such a loyal fanbase. I did not take any stars off the Kinect itself because the unit itself in my opinion works great. Just a little rant there about poor implementation on Microsofts part which I feel is rare for them and it is still not rectified.

Of course the primary appeal for the Kinect are games. But it can do so much more, like recognize you and log you into your xbox, use voice commands to control your tv, search the web, etc. This blows the PS4 camera out of the water. It's not even a comparison.

I recently bought this to replace part of my workout routine due to the local gyms being packed 99% of the time. So far so good, just wish there were a bit more games to take advantage of it. Price matched it for about $40 less than retail so I can't complain.

I almost hate to say it but I really do enjoy the Kinect. I originally didn't want one because I thought it would be a waste, but playing games like Dance Central and the voice commands make this a really good buy. It will be interesting once a fully working Cortana finally arrives on Xbox One, and it syncs with your Phone and Computer, but that will only happen come August. I recommend the Kinect if you know what you are getting with it. Don't expect a lot of games to support it because that just won't happen at this point. This is really for party games, that is all.

i can see why this became an optional accessory after the initial launch. there are not many games that i have (other than the one that came with it) nor features that worked with it right off the bat. however, with the updated release of win10, i haven't tried any of the new features it was supposed to introduce. overall quality of the piece seems to be pretty solid. PnP'd right out of the box and my xbox detected and started using it perfectly. voice commands are pretty cool but i sometimes forget they're available. has the ability to track more than one person at a time so that's a pretty significant step in evolution from previous gesture controllers.

I love the voice activated control of the Kinnect sensor. I'm frustrated that I had to buy another one for the Xbox One, especially because there isn't a price break or anything. However, it almost seems like it works better than the old one.

The Kinect essentially makes the Xbox One smarter. Very intuitive and easy to use. The voice recognition is very well done. The size of the unit is smaller than I expected considering how big the box is. Definitely worth the $99 price.
